Questions & Answers

It's designed for slicing frozen meat, according to the packaging. Is it capable of slicing raw or cooked meat into thin slices that has not been frozen?

Please accept our heartfelt greetings, Bill, from the KWS MS- Both frozen and cooked meat can be sliced with the 6N meat slicer. Customers will, however, get better results when slicing frozen meat because cooked meat can fall apart if it's too tender. It also depends on what kind of meat you're using. We hope this has provided you with the information you require.

Is it possible to shave deli meats like ham and turkey with this? do you like your shaved ice in crumbly chunks?

I guess it depends on how thick you want to go. The ham should be fine, but the quality of the turkey breast (for example) will be determined by how dry it is. Furthermore, because this machine is small, you may not be able to fit both on it unless you cut them into small enough pieces before slicing.

What is the maximum food size that this slicer can handle? What is the thinnest possible slice of meat? How about some bread slicing?

Our MS-KWS KWS-KWS-KWS-KWS- The 6 meat slicer has a capacity of 7 foods. (L) X (W) X (H) X (L) X ( (W) X (H) X (L) X (W) X ( 5 (H). Anything between the thicknesses of 0 and can be easily sliced by the customer. 4” / 0- 10mm. We do not advise our customers to slice their bread with our slicer. We hope this has provided you with a satisfactory response to your query.

How fast does this slicer spin?

I'm not sure what rpms you're looking for. It, however, is extremely effective. It's a miniature version of what you'd find in your neighborhood deli.

Fantastic slicer for the home
5/5

The machine was delivered in good condition. It's fine to follow instructions. Slicer has a beautiful design. It looks great on the counter, and we were surprised to find that we could fit it into one of our lower cabinets. I assumed I'd have to put it in the basement to keep it safe. br>br>As we put it together, we washed everything, which provided a nice little lesson in how it works. It's fairly simple to get everything set up. The blade (which is an awesome piece of metal) requires a flathead screwdriver to remove, but everything else is easily disassembled with hand knobs. br>br>I had a 5. 5 pound mortadella (approximately 5. For the virgin use, I made a 5" square. Pistachios and whole peppercorns were used in this dish. I thought the slicer handled them well within the forcemeat, and the blade didn't appear to be harmed in any way. I set the thickness to 1mm, which seemed to work well for getting clean whole slices. The sliding carriage has a nice spiked handle that lets you hold the meat in a couple of different ways while working. I couldn't get even/complete slices with 1/2mm. It would grab the slices as they passed through the blade and spin them under it. I think I could pull off 1/2 a pound at that thickness with colder meat (maybe 30 minutes in the freezer), which would be ideal: just like a real Italian deli. br>br>Motor appears to be powerful enough, as there was no lag on the mortadella as we sliced. The motor is extremely quiet, and the sturdy base feels perfectly balanced. br>br>I haven't used the self-sharpening system yet, but it appears to be very nice. The only drawback is that while cleaning it, one of the plastic handles snapped. I'm still able to use it, but it's inconvenient. I've registered the product and will file a warranty claim as soon as possible. Although the replacement part appears to be around $10, I expect them to honor their warranty. If they don't, I'll deduct a star from their score. br>br>Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase, and I'm looking forward to curing pork belly and slicing bacon!.

The machine will not be able to cut frozen meat as easily as butter
3/5

In most cases, it works. I've got a 3-pound frozen ribeye. The diameter is 5 inches. The machine will not be able to cut frozen meat as easily as butter. You must freeze the meat if you want to cut it very thinly (like I did). Meat pieces will fly all over the place if you thinly slice unfrozen meat. br>br>I sliced three frozen ribeye steaks (very thin) into three chunks. The setup took ten minutes, the cutting took twenty minutes, and the cleanup took thirty minutes. br>br>If you're only making thin cuts, you'll be fine; however, if you're making thick cuts, why not just use a knife and save some money? The disadvantages: br>br> It takes a lot of effort to clean. Small meat and fat pieces will be sandwiched between the various components. To remove the blade and clean the inside, you'll need three screwdrivers.

This is a good product, but keep that in mind
5/5

The slicer itself is excellent and has a premium feel to it. This is a seven. The blade is 5" in length rather than 6". However, there are some things you should be aware of: (1) The cleanup is time consuming, but it is a messy food slicer. (2) To loosen the three screws holding the blade in place, we needed to use an impact driver. (3) We needed to use a rotary tool to smooth out the central bore of the blade disc so it wouldn't be as tight off and on the hub. (4) We used sandpaper to go around the unit's edges, removing any sharp edges that weren't necessary. We also purchased the larger teflon-coated 10" model, which had a few more issues: (5) The teflon coating had some embedded sand specks that ruined the flatness, so I had to chip them out with a screwdriver, and (6) the 10" blade was so tight on the motor hub that it took a mallet hammer to get it off, and a lot of rotary tool action to get it to fit smoothly. My recommendation is to stick with aluminum models with plastic handles (metal handles are cumbersome!). ), and then choose a teflon blade if desired.

Exceeded my expectations in every way
5/5

This machine is extremely well-made and functions flawlessly. Others have complained about how difficult it is to remove the screws that hold the blade in place, but I had no such issues. The screws were very easy to remove. The blade is approximately 7 inches long. The distance between the bottom of the feed tray and the top of the blade is 5 inches, but it is 6 inches from the bottom of the feed tray to the top of the blade. As a result, it's labeled as a 6" slicer. The feed tray runs smoothly and adjusts easily for thickness control, and the motor is very quiet. A spare belt and a sharpening stone are also included. When cleaning the unit, I prefer to leave the sharpening attachment off until the blade actually needs to be sharpened. This way, there's one less piece to remove. The only issue I had was with the meat guide plate not being properly aligned. It was simple to fix with two allen-keys. Under the motor cover, there are screws. According to what I've seen, this machine should last a long time.

It does exactly what it should
5/5

I've only used the slicer once, but it did a fantastic job. My sirloin tip roast was able to be thinly sliced. Cleaning was not the most enjoyable experience I've ever had, but it wasn't all bad either. It is preferable to complete a large number of tasks at once and then clean. It's not something I'd want to do every day, but I'm enjoying it so far.

I can't imagine anything else coming close to
5/5

Nothing else comes close for the money, in my opinion. It's simply superbly constructed. Other slicers I looked at appeared to be significantly less expensive in terms of materials than this one, but not in terms of price; my previous slicer lasted more than 20 years. I have a feeling this one will last the rest of my life.

For the money, it's a great deal
5/5

I've made use of the $100 - For years, I've seen $150 meat slicers, but I've always wanted one like the one I used when I worked in a meat department at a local grocery store in college, but I didn't want to spend $1000 or more on a slicer that would be too heavy for me to easily carry down from the attic where we keep it. I've been looking for a slicer like this for a long time. It slices thin cuts consistently without the need to reset the thickness, which has been a problem I've had with slicers in the past, and it's a great value for the money.
