In Alaska, my family and I live on a sailboat. We make our own bread and use frozen lunch meat. It took longer than I expected to dial it in. To clean it safely, you must purchase a blade puller. In addition, when mine arrived, it was dull and wouldn't cut through anything. I'm glad I got the sharpener when I did. It cut well after being sharpened. But it's still a shambles. You'll need a tray to catch the cut items, as well as any crumbs or liquids. Clean up all the cracks and crevices with a small detail or paint brush. It's a substantial piece. However, given the price, I had hoped for more. I'm also grateful that I read enough to be able to purchase all of the required accessories. However, it is one of the few slicers that can be delivered to Homer, Alaska. So, unfortunately, my decision was based on who could ship it up here first, rather than what I truly desired or required.
