Hard boil eggs can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 8 minutes, depending on the size and how many you cook. It does not seem to matter how many you cook because it does not seem to affect the length of time they take to boil.
the water in the tank has evaporated, the unit will shut off the power and will not draw any more power or current from the outlet after it has done so. There is so much noise that no person can tolerate it. In case of a malfunction, the alarm can be so loud that you will be forced to unplug it, in which case the power will not shut With the help of a power meter, I verified this. As long as the water is boiling, it requires 400 watts of power.
I have found mine to be incredibly effective. However, the key to not cracking eggs is when you place the egg on the pinhole. If you don't apply enough pressure to the egg, it will crack. Make sure you use the small end of the egg, and don't apply much pressure.
Hard boiled eggs are the only thing I've ever made with it

It took me a while to buy this because I was thinking that I could not even bothered to boil an egg with boiling water. I am disabled and I have limited mobility, so sometimes the simplest of things can be hard for me. What I like about egg salad sandwiches is that they are delicious Eggs that have been deviled On english muffins, boiled eggs and soft cheese. It had been a long time since I had eggs. Thanks to a gift certificate I got from Amazon for a refund, I bought it and am so glad If I am doing soft-boiled eggs I cook just two eggs in it, but I cook 7 eggs when I am doing hard-boiled eggs. This machine makes them perfectly, puncturing the eggs and placing them within one minute, and preparing them in five minutes. After I wash them with cold water, I let them dry. My first attempt was a disaster, as I accidentally cracked an egg when I put the hole in it, and another was badly cracked in the crate (I did not notice right away). The toughest eggs cracked more while cooking, and the process of peeling them was difficult, but everything else went great. I am now eating eggs more often, and it's a simple meal to prepare. Moreover, I tried to poach eggs in it, and it was not a good idea. The egg ceased cooking at 90 seconds in, leaving it virtually raw when it was removed from the stove. Water was removed from the basin, cold water has been added, and the basin has been refilled A new project has been started. While it was much better than what you'd get from using an egg-poaching pan, it still was not up to scratch. Despite my best efforts, I was not satisfied To make matters worse, the egg pocher tray was incredibly difficult guess it would be better if you sprayed your pan with cook spray first, but I don't want to poach eggs in that. It does very well with boiled eggs, which I tend to stick with. My opinion of the Egg Genie is that it is quite enjoyable and I will consider giving it to a couple of older family members and friends.
Poached eggs are my main reason for buying this. tried three different times to hard boil eggs, but it never worked. When I first tried this, I had used the "soft" line on the water cup, and both of the eggs came out runny. An intermediate state between raw and semi-raw. When I tried a second time, I used the "average" line for 2 eggs, and they still came out way After I made a third attempt, I used the medium setting for 4 eggs (even though I was cooking only 2), and they almost came out right, but were It was fine on the edges, but did not run in the center. It makes sense that it has to do with that plastic poaching tray. Heat does not transfer evenly through it because it is too deep. The following pluses are included One of the main complaints I have is There is a lot of sticky egg white in the poaching tray, which is very hard to remove, since the angles are sharp and the pockets are deep, so you can't reach inside to get it For the use I was going to use it for, I returned it. Perhaps if all you do is hard boil eggs, that's fine, I'm not sure. And one other thing I dislike The buzzer that is supposed to sound when the eggs are (allegedly) finished cooking is ridiculously loud There is a sound like that of a smoke alarm. Taking the plug out of the cooker will turn off this hideous noise There is no switch to turn it on or off.
Although this product has received many positive reviews, please consider my perspective. My egg genie does well sometimes and not so well other times. I do not mean that the white of the egg oozes out of the pinhole. A pinhole in one of the eggs caused the white to leak out and ruin all three eggs. It has happened before that eggs have been thrown away. I found out the best way to get hard boiled eggs was to simply heat a quart of water until it's roaring. Put a lid on the pot and allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Let eggs cool in the refrigerator and then put them back out. No failures have been reported yet through this method. This boiling of eggs to hard boiling was found on youtube. My eggs have ruined too many times with Genie, so I do not recommend it. Oh yes, I always used the correct amount of water for the number of eggs being handled. Do not complain to me if you also get ruined eggs when you purchase it.
After all, you can boil eggs in a pot, why do I need a specific device? - Main reason for this? I would recommend it simply for the eggs. They're easy to peel, and it's definitely worth the purchase just for that alone. I don't know what else to add. That's what I'm looking for!.
My old one was over 10 years old, and I decided to replace it because the eggs were not boiling hard enough to become hard boiled. As I used my old one all the time, I wasn't surprised that it had to be changed. The other appliances I had to replace after a few years were more expensive, so I think this was a wise investment. The old-fashioned way of boiling eggs and peeling them without removing half the egg, which is how I learned how to do it, never clicked for me, so when I saw this at the store years ago, I was not overly enthusiastic about it. The fact that it did everything it claimed was so surprising to me. It is primarily used for hard-boiled and poached eggs. I haven't used my new Egg Genie that I just purchased from Amazon yet, but if it is even half as good as my old one, it goes straight to my top of the list. This is one of the best little gems you can find. I honestly believe you won't be disappointed if you purchase.
