Questions & Answers

Do you know of anyone who has upgraded from the Lux or Duo to the Ultra? What's the point of it if it makes it easier to control and programmable?

Sous vide is something I wanted to do, so I bought an Ultra. Assisted the Duo with temperature control, but couldn't figure out a reliable method. It's available at Sur La Table for $99. (YouTube used Ultra) I also bought it there for There is a fee of $119 or $95. Compared to the Duo, I use this one more often. We're having a great time. For sides, it is a good idea to keep a second pot on hand since sous vide takes longer.

In this model, altitude is taken into account. What's the reason? This is what I understood pressure cooking to be intended for. ?

There is a set amount of pressure in a pressure cooker, but that pressure is based on the surrounding atmospheric pressure. In other words, altitude is definitely a factor when cooking under pressure or on a regular stove. In a pressure cooker at 11, you'll find it hard to control. By increasing the pressure to 5 psi (Instant Pot's high pressure setting), the food will cook more quickly (or boil more quickly) at 243°F compared to 212°F at sea level. In Denver, the boiling point is 202°F with no additional pressure since it's just below 5400' in elevation. The pressure cooker in Denver still reaches 11 pounds per square inch. There is a pressure of around 5 psi inside the pot, but the absolute pressure inside is equivalent to 9 psi in sea level, and the temperature inside will be at Thus, it still makes a massive difference in the amount of time it takes to cook compared to regular cooking, but it won't cook as fast as with Even if you took a standard pressure cooker to the summit of Mt Everest, it would cook food in much less time than regular cooking (with no pressure)

If I use the sous vide function, I need something to circulate the water in the chamber. What's the best way to do this on Amazon?

Unlike other sous vide machines, you will not need a circulator. However, your water temperature will not be regulated the way it would be in a regular sous vide machine. The amount of water you use will depend on how heavy the pot is. To adjust the temperature properly, you'll have to make the necessary adjustments. I used a 2/3 filled pot and a 130 degree setting, and the water never went above 123 degrees in the When there is 2" of water under it, it gets

As of this writing, there are no specific accessories listed on the company website for the ultra model. Does everything that works with the 6 quart instant pot also work with the ultra?

With the new ultra, the same accessories you purchase for the Instant Pot 6 quart will fit easily - I have an spare pot and seals, and they're the same size. I would purchase an extra ring set - the ring size is between 11/16" and 13/16". After several uses, the rings do get a bit discolored. As a result of wanting to steam vegetables, I purchased a spare 6 quart pot. Here is some information I hope will be

Ultra Mini is awesome, but the company seems to have gone out of business
3/5

The Ultra Mini we bought a couple of months ago is in good condition. Our first impression of the device was that we instantly loved it. We promptly ordered a larger unit one week later. Recent discovery of a stuck front dialing button prompted us to replace it. In inspecting it with an optical microscope, I found it to be out of shape inside the panel where it fits inside. Since the button is designed to withstand heat (plastic is used), we could easily conclude that this could have happened. My Instant Pot was damaged, and I contacted Instant Pot customer service to find out if it was covered under warranty, or if not, how to get According to them, this is what they replied I appreciate you getting that information to us, thank you so much. "- "Hello Edmundo, I want to thank you for getting that information to us. *The base is sold as a complete unit, so this piece cannot be separated from the base. Warranty coverage does not apply to this item. In between those two points, we can offer you our loyalty price of $65, and this will be your exclusive price. There are 95 USD in this. I am very disappointed with this response. I am requesting that you let me know if you would like to move forward. " If you are going to replace a small cheap button, then I am not willing to spend money on an entire unit. These buttons are likely to be in their warehouse in hundreds of thousands. If it breaks, you can replace it by pulling it out and putting it back in again. As a result, it is not mounted to the base unit permanently. This company is unable to offer me a simple solution to a small problem, which is disappointing.
I have solved the button problem by removing the button and putting it back in without pressing it in all the way. Because of this, the Ultra Mini is an excellent product. While I look for a similar button, it works just fine for the time being. The issue is not a major one. It is important to note that there is a serious customer service lapse at Thank you for the opportunity to work with you! Best regards, Edmundo.

Read my comments and you will know what I mean
5/5

Please take caution! If you are buying the Ultra Instant Pot, you must first learn how to use the buttons because all the recipes are designed for the standard Instant Pot, not for the Ultra Instant Pot On the Ultra, the buttons are all different. It took me some time to figure this out, and I will probably continue to do so in the future. My Ultra IP is awesome, but I wish the company had explained the differences in the buttons to me more clearly. After searching online and reading lots of blogs, I came up with these results.

Wow! If you've never been pressure cooking before, you're in for a treat
5/5

Please see https//www. nbsp Being a longtime pressure cooker, the first thought that springs to mind It is true that I used a stove top pressure cooker a long time ago, and have not used one since. I have also been out of the loop on Instant Pot electric pressure cookers, which is why I followed my instincts and ordered the Ultra rather than the Duo. As you would go to a car dealer for a new car, think of the Instant Pot line of cookers in There are three models The Lux is the base model, the Duo is one model up from it, the Duo Plus is two models up from it and the Ultra is the full-featured In the same way as the car dealer Money is more likely to be earned by adding features. It is available for $149 on the street. If you are patient and you find them on sale, you can find the Ultra for $149. However, in any case, it is It is an excellent price for the features this cooker has to offer. With this cooker, you can save a lot when you do not have to eat out as often. It is amazing how good the food you can cook is. Having purchased this Instant Pot a few weeks ago, I've used it nearly every day since It is sometimes done twice daily. also made sure to find things that require me to plan beyond the default manual settings that can be configured under Pressure Cook or Ultra in order to create them. What I find appealing and what I find disappointing. The pros are A LCD display - This feature is not available in every LCD. In the discussion groups, I hear people say things like, "I pushed the button, but it says "ON," but I have no idea what is going on. Cooking graphs on the Ultra show you where you are in the preheat, cooking, and warming phases, so you can keep track of the progress. Compared to any other model of Instant Pot, the LCD display is head and shoulders above the other control panels. ** This pressure regulator has been improved, as well as venting and quick release. With the new control system, there is a separate button for vents and regulators Push the Quick Release button into the locking position, and the Vent will pop up and release the pressure then turn the quick release knob and unlock the Vent so it will drop back down and stop releasing pressure. You can set the exact temperature as low as 104 degrees and as high as 208 degrees with the Ultra Programs. In this case, you need to set your altitude and the software on the Ultra will adjust the temperature. In aesthetics, there are several factors to consider Compared to other models of the same type, with LCD panel it is much more attractive*Cons • The sealing ring (silicone) in the lid absorbs all the smells from cooking and this ring has a bad odor. I researched different methods to get rid of the cooking smell, but found that the only one that worked was to run the silicone ring through the dishwasher on the top rack, * The Manual is not very detailed, which seems to be a constant complaint from Instant Pot users. Known by the user as the "Water Test" from page 14, it is also known as the "Initial Test Run. " I would like to suggest that the instructions for the "Initial Test Run" be revised. When the user has finished setting the time for two minutes under steam and adjusting the dial, the user is only told to turn the dial to start. Despite the explanations under numbers 6,7, and 8 being important for Pressure Cooking, it is not clear to the user that these are not part of the Initial Test. Since users use the term "Water Test", it is not clear that these are not considered part of the Initial Test. A change to the future manuals might be worth it for Instant Pot to include instructions on the "Water Test". Here is a little more information about preset programming. There are a few pages in the manual about making yogurt, it would be handy to have a few more on the other functions as well. Using high pressure is not a con, as it is just a natural part of the cooking process. A pressure cooker is a moist cooker, so any crispy dish you desire has to be cooked outside of the Instant Pot for instance, lasagna would be finished under a broiler to achieve the desired baked texture. When cooked in the oven, chicken skin does not look exactly like it would if it were roasted. In comparison to all the things you can do with the Instant Pot, these things are not so big a Here are some of the items I have prepared in my Instant Pot Ultra, as well as the settings I Increasing the pressure on the cooker - Pressure Cooker Among the dishes to be served were Apple Sauce, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni and Cheese, Slumgullion/American Goulash soup broth. *Split Pea Soup using dry split peas
Meat and Stew Soup using split peas* I am going to serve you Crack Chicken, Honey Garlic Chicken, Cranberry Brisket, Dr Pepper Ribs, Beef Bourguignon, Bratwurst with Beans/Chili beans with smoked turkey sausage on the stovetop - steam A Sauté of Sweet Potato In addition to vegetables and meat, you will need porridge for your meals. I used steel cut oats in the cake I love New York Cheese Cake, Pumpkin Cheesecake, giant pancakes, and fried eggs Eggs – hard-boiled or soft boiled*Yogurt – plain or fruity The first thing you receive in a package is 2% Greek yogurt
Ultra Tempred chocolate for making candy was developed for sous vide tuna steaks. It is often difficult to figure out which model is best for a given person. The Ultra gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to cooking. If you are a cook or you like cooking and can prepare many items, then you need In the end, it is a very good investment, and you are better off going with the Duo model as opposed to trying to save a few bucks. In terms of cooking skills, even people who do not cook a lot can understand the LCD display, which makes it easier to understand the pressure cooking cycle, which is unavailable on the Duo and It is possible that the additional settings will entice novice cooks to try new recipes. Also, I see that people are nervous to use their Instant Pots, as they have seen comments in the forums. There is either a fear of pressure cooking in general or running the Instant Pot is too complicated, so why experience it at all. Suitable for cooking all kinds of food, this computerized pressure cooker has excellent venting and pressure regulation systems. By following a few basic rules, you'll be able to keep on cooking sans worries for a long time.

1. Be sure there is enough liquid in your recipe. The Instant Pot cannot create pressure if it does not have Observation 2. Fill the pot to the appropriate level. You can find a great explanation of how much you can put into the Instant Pot Ultra at the bottom of page 14. The third point. Check the venting system after each use so food isn't blocking it. Ensure that the lid is clean and the venting system is clear after each use. There is nothing like your mother's or grandmother's pressure cooker. It is a computerized pressure cooker that is light years ahead of older pressure cookers. programming of the product makes it one of the more versatile cooking gadgets you can have in your kitchen because it provides flexibility to the user. In comparison with a stove top pressure cooker, it is a safer cooking system because of computer programming. It is a very typical family in our neighborhood, we have a lot of after school activities, we get home late and no one wants to cook. While we do have a slow cooker, if we forget to set it up in the morning before we leave the house, recipes are still time consuming when we arrive Everything has changed with the invention of the Instant Pot. It dramatically reduces the amount of time it takes to cook. I also do not have to sit at the stove monitoring my food during preparation. By the time I put all the food into the pot, cover it and let it cook, I'll have time to do many other things It has been a great experience for my family. We eat out less (saving money) and make better food choices when we are dining out than when we were dining The new and different recipes I find on the Internet and in cookbooks always make me look forward to the food I make at home because there will be something tasty to eat that is probably new to me.

It came highly recommended from family, so we bought the top-of-the-line Instant Pot
3/5

As a result of family recommendations, I purchased the top of the line Instant Pot. There is a problem with the pot consistently not pressurizing. So I reset, checked everything (including liquid level) and it failed to pressurize. So I reset, checked everything again, and retried. Within a couple of hours, a 1 hour meal will have taken between 4 and 5 hours to cook, and it is still not ready because the Instant Pot does not pressurize to complete the cooking. Two of the meals I've tried so far have failed and I ended up getting rid of them (pot roast and As you can see, I opened a ticket on March 4th and received a reply stating that the wait times were longer than usual. My return period through Amazon has come to an end as of March 13. The result is that I now have to put up with a product that does not work and a company that won't respond to my emails. There is no point in wasting your money or time.
