It is all very well engineered and a good concept. This product is made of cheap materials and is very poorly made. My thumb almost went through the aluminum skin when I opened the unit. The aluminum skin is extremely thin. The only way to hold it together is with pop rivets. The product has only been used twice so far, so I will be surprised if it lasts two It would be worth more if the version was better made.
This is just what I had been looking for since I had to replace my old non ceramic cooker. My favorite part about slow cooking a recipe is that you can start it on the stovetop and finish it up on the stove. It has a nonstick interior that makes cleaning easy and is lightweight. As it cooks a little hotter than my old slow cooker, I will probably be using it more often on the low setting.
Every time I have to replace an item, I usually miss the old one and am not satisfied with the new one. Unlike this slow cooker, it works all day long. My favorite thing about this one is that it is larger and lighter (two unique features), and that I can set the cook time. Today I made whole chicken, following a recipe called for tinfoil. I used a 12 cup slow cooker. A rack from an airfryer served as a table. We set a timer. When it came out it was so wet it fell off the bone. The slow cooker I bought is my new favorite appliance. Goodbye to the crock pot I had that cracked after.
So far I haven't tried it as a slow cooker, but I have browned a roast and put it in my oven at 325 degrees for around an hour. I do not think higher is possible. There's nothing I like more than the fact that you can brown in it first. My only issue is that the lid handles are a bit melted. However, I'm surprised that this should happen considering that the code is still usable. There are only three stars as a result.
To slow cook the meat over a longer period of time, I wanted a crockpot that enabled me to sear the meat on the stovetop. Certainly, this is the way to go. A further advantage is the fact that the inner container of the slow cooker can be used to store food in the refrigerator since it is metal instead of ceramic. There was only one reason for my rating of four stars the outer shell seems to be made from a lighter material, and the lid needs to be shaken a bit to feel like it is set properly while it cooks.
