If you look at other slow cookers, few have what you might call a tight-fitting lid. A lid that fits. On Highl, the lid is usually just a thin glass that shakes a little bit as it cooks. The HB Stay or Go program didn't work for me before This model has a hole and no probe, thereby eliminating any probe trouble. It doesn't seem to release any steam, and even on high, you can't see a steam stream escaping.
You can't set this cooker so it will turn on later in the day, Kim. The meals that I cook in this unit have never been a problem since it was installed- An example would be a pot roast that requires six quarts of water Even after two or three hours on the low setting, the food will still be perfectly cooked because no evaporation allows the food to get dry. A casserole that ought to "bake" for a few hours, but you wish to serve it after it has been cooked for 8 to 10 hours On your regular oven, you will need to use the timed setting if you have an eight-hour workday. It is because of that reason that I am unaware of any slow cookers that have a delayed start feature Food does not dry out since they do not allow it. Therefore, as long as you cook your food for the minimum required amount of time, extending the cooking time for hours at a time is never an issue. Once the programmed cook time is over, or when the probe registers that the food has reached the desired temperature, this slow cooker will automatically switch to the warm setting. In my experience, I have used plenty of slow cookers, but this one (and its' smaller cousin) is by far my favorite. According to me, even if you spent ten times as much money on this device, it would still be the best slow cooker.
Yes, if you're referring to your "ceramic crock" in which you place your food, then it can be removed. In addition to being oven and microwave safe, it is also very lightweight.
I'm willing to wager that no manufacturer of slow cookers or other types of ovens will ever put a delay in production on their products because of liability concerns.

Our family decided to cook our meals ourselves a few months ago in order to save money. were eating Trader Joe's frozen meals and going out a lot, and that got expensive pretty fast. That being the case, I guess it should come as no surprise that I can't handle It is true, I did come across one awesome blog called It's a year of slow cooking where I found an entire list of easy-to-make This blog enables you to make recipes in very little time. (Since then, I have found other blogs where other recipes can be found In fact, the year of slow cooking has always been my favorite Get Crocked is another good example. ) With the recipe problem solved, I started using my old, small, I put the ingredients in the crockpot and set it and forgot about it, but some recipes call for cook time of 9 hours and others for 6 and that kind of sounds like overkill to me. There was no way I could do this with my old crockpot. On the other hand, the Hamilton Beach does not. The interface is so simple that anyone can use it! Although I have no experience with electronics (ask my husband), I am able to operate this crockpot without a problem. The only thing you need to do is to press the on button (the red circle on the left), then select the time by pressing the up/down arrows on right, press enter, select the heat setting and press enter. Upon completion, the warmer switches to the Warm setting in order to prevent food spoilage. So, if you set it for a Friday night and want to sleep in on Saturday, it can be set for that date. If you just want to turn off your crockpot, you don't have to get up. The temperature probe can be used to set the temperature you want to maintain to make sure that the meat is cooked to the appropriate temperature for a large chicken, for instance. I also have one of those lids that latches down with two simple lever clamps that lock each end so I'll be one of "those" people who take over the office kitchen if we have There is a rubber seal on the lid, however make sure to keep it upright because there are small vent holes and a hole through which the probe can be placed. All in all, this is a set it and forget it slow cooker (as promised). The glass has broken in a couple of reviews I have seen that were not ideal. In order to ensure safe transportation, the lid has only to be clamped down The lid could fall and shatter easily if you tighten it while cooking. My husband thinks tightening the lid will put excessive stress on the glass and increase the likelihood it will break. This is why you should remember it. While I haven't used the more expensive models (the whole point of using a crockpot was to save money), I must confess that I am a bit in love with it and highly recommend it for those who want a crockpot at a reasonable price.
It is worthwhile noting that Hamilton Beach has been a trusted name in our home for over 40 years and we have never had a return in that time. However, two separate units were both defective when delivered, and I do not believe in coincidence. In addition, the device has an awful lot of current circulating through it for me to trust walking away from it with two electrical defects, one back to back, from two different retailers. The above unit was replaced due to a hole melting through the bottom of the aluminum just above where the plug is located. We had the warranty replaced in six to eight weeks, easily, and what we got NEVER reached the temperature we I was also charged for both returns, and although Amazon was kind enough to take it back at all (after six months), they only gave us the value of the lowest price it has ever been listed at with Hamiton Beach Warranty Department. "***" - We are enraged!.
Using this crockpot for the second time, I prepared a meal for my family. Using this product for the first time was great, as well as using it for the second time. It wasn't until I tried to put the lid on my dishwasher that I realized what had happened. Having been OFF of the crockpot for roughly two hours by the time I attempted to put it into the dishwasher, the glass was not hot at all. In fact, as I set the lid in the dishwasher, it almost literally exploded (which you can see from the pics). Due to the fact that I have never seen this happen before, particularly after just two uses, I am at a loss for words. Thankfully I do not have any complaints about the crockpot in itself, but I do have a dishwasher full of glass, so I am going to speak to the company so they can replace it for me.
Upon receiving it, I stuffed it with a roast and everything to go with Taking off from the street, I hit manual, low, it beeped, and I left. Upon my return, all the food was spoiled and at room temperature. There's nothing I can do to get this thing to warm up. I have attempted to reach customer service and am on my fourth email after providing each of them with my model and series number on multiple occasions they still It is a terrible product. My family will not buy anything more from Hamilton Beach. At all costs, do not engage in this activity.
A product like this would be great, but it needs to last for at least a decade. In the original purchase, the product broke within a year, but I like it so much I want to try it again with a new one. I also gave in to my newest one. The item was bought on July 22, 2016, according to my order history. It's not too late, The last crock pot I had was my mother's, who had it for 20 years, and then I had it for a decade. Even though it was not broken, we just wanted to upgrade to a programmable version. It happens every so often, it's fine. I have written the same person twice. This is not a product I would recommend. There seems to be no reset for this one. It stopped the first time it ran and will not do anything but blink SEL.
It is the same crockpot I have owned for 15 years, and I recently decided to get a second one so I can use it for cooking and baking. Since I bought my first one 15 years ago, the quality has degraded quite a bit. My stainless steel exterior collapsed on one side the first time I used it despite being only on low after unpacking and removing it from packaging. I was surprised when I used it for the first time. As quickly as possible, I requested a new one and am hoping this does not In my next review, I will describe how the replacement operates after I have used it first.
The smell of chemicals awoke me at 4 in the morning. It was melting in the crockpot when I came into the kitchen! It is impossible to trust a product like this, when you can't use it unless you My life would have been very different if I hadn't woken There was a chance it could have started a fire while my family and I slept.
