It will not only spill, but the bottom glass will crack as well. What's the deal with this microwave costing nearly $1,000?

It's a fantastic piece of equipment. It's perfect for an island, and only a few companies make drawer units like this.

What is the minimum distance between the appliance's outlet and the floor?

The height from the ground will be determined by where it will be installed. Before we installed our electrical, we read the manufacturer's installation guide. In the top left corner, there is a space for the MW's electrical. The top of our electrical box was 34 because we installed this unit just under the countertop. The floor is 5 inches away.

We purchased the KB-100 as a safety hazard
3/5

6524 was added to a kitchen remodel about two years ago. We've recently started having the same issues that Trina has mentioned. We'd hear a loud buzzing sound, crackling, arcing, and sometimes a flash of light shortly after turning on the microwave. It wouldn't always be the case - unpredictably unpredictable When I called Sharp, they said I'd have to take it to a Sharp-authorized repair shop and pay for all labor as well as any parts that weren't covered by the warranty. Fortunately, I had done some research online for other people who had experienced similar issues with this model, and I came across Trina's post here on Amazon. I printed it out and took it to the Sharp repair shop (65 miles away) with the microwave, asking them to diagnose the problem. They called a few days later to say that the printout of Trina's Amazon complaint had helped them figure out what was wrong. It would require four new parts, including a stirrer and a new antenna, according to them. Sharp will not cover the cost of the repair because none of these parts are covered by warranty. By now, it should be obvious that this is a KB-related manufacturing flaw. Not only should 6524 and Sharp pay for repairs, but they should also recall all of the units that are currently in use. This could be a fire hazard, and I'll most likely report it to the Consumer Safety Bureau. However, I strongly advise anyone looking for a microwave drawer to choose Bosch, Dacor, or one of the other top-rated brands. models in a line They are more expensive, but not when you factor in the Sharp KB-100 repair bill. If you take that path, dial 6524. Keep sharp objects away from your face. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I asked the electronics technician to explain what had gone wrong when we went to pick up the microwave from the authorized repair shop. He said the stirrer motor, antenna assembly (including clip and cover), and other parts needed to be replaced, as Trina had mentioned. HOWEVER, he also informed me that Sharp had issued a bulletin to its authorized repair shops informing them of the problem. Sharp is thus not only aware of the issue but is refusing to address it under warranty, but it is also leaving a known safety issue on the market. I'm going to the Consumer Product Safety Bureau to file a complaint. UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: The same problem reappeared three months and a few days after the above-mentioned $200 repair. With smoke coming from the top and back of the microwave this time, the authorized repairer said we'd have to pay again to have it diagnosed and fixed because the warranty period had expired. We were given a choice between two options: We had two options: spend another $200 or more on this piece of junk, or take it to the dump and buy a new microwave. Who knows how many times this will need to be corrected. And, to be honest, it's dangerous for both humans and animals. We went with a countertop microwave from a different manufacturer because it didn't have the questionable "stirrer" technology found in the Sharp model. It looks great in the spot where the Sharp used to be. So far, we've been very pleased with it. The Sharp, on the other hand, is a bit of a mystery. A three-year-old, high-priced Sharp microwave drawer will be hauled to the county dump with the following notice taped to it: "NOT TO BE USED - "THERE IS A FIRE HAZARD. ".

Microwave is fantastic
5/5

Everything is in order! Updated after a year, then again after a year, then again after a year, and again after This is an excellent product that performs admirably. It would have been nice if it came with more instructions on how to use it, but it was fairly simple to figure out. I set up my own installation. I already had a plug for a warming drawer, which I replaced with the microwave after reading some negative reviews. Before making a purchase, I looked at a few good ones. My order arrived quickly and undamaged, and I installed it the next day. It has been working flawlessly since then. A little pricey, but a great product. br>br>11/2/2019 UPDATEbr>I thought it would be helpful to others who, like me, were "on the fence" about purchasing this microwave. It has now been just over a year, and the microwave is still purring along, just fine. We've kept it clean, so it still looks new and works perfectly. The third photo shows how it looks after a year of use, and, as I previously stated, it's as good as new! br>br>5/8/2020 UPDATEbr>I'm back to let you know that this little gem is still running smoothly. We've kept it clean, and it still looks brand new, as I mentioned in previous reviews. This is a high-quality microwave. and it's still as good as it was when I bought it.

It's only been two weeks! This microwave was purchased to replace one that had lasted six years and was identical to it
3/5

This one only lasted two weeks before it began to smoke. Amazon covered the cost of the return shipping and issued a prompt refund. Amazon is always a winner! Sharp has had a lot of issues with this model, and they also make a lot of the more expensive brands. I'd be happy if I got ten years out of one for this price, having previously owned a Whirlpool over-the-stove model that lasted twenty years. Quality is no longer a factor; shame on you, Sharp, and anyone else who produces subpar goods. Thank you, Amazon, for not only having the best prices, but also providing the best customer service.

With a few adjustments, it will fit in an IKEA cabinet
5/5

It's fantastic! I was worried about fitting this in an IKEA cabinet, but with a few modifications, it fit perfectly in their 24" cabinet. br>br>First, the space where the cabinet attaches to the ikea rail system is right where the power is supposed to be. We had to drill some new holes for the bracker and just attach it to the wall off the rail (IKEA provides hardware attach off rail) because we had already run the power. If we had caught this earlier, we would have just used a recessed outlet and had the power moved elsewhere. br>br>The second change was that we had to drill new peg holes for the microwave shelf because the existing ones left a 3/4 gap at the top. Third, the screws that hold the microwave barley in place do not line up with the cabinet edges, so we had to add a 1/4 shim to give the screws something to bite into. Make sure the holes are pre-drilled. Finally, because this microwave is 5" shorter than IKEA's, you'll need a 15" bottom drawer (or 10" and 5" or 3 5" drawers) instead of the standard 10" IKEA drawer. br>br> A 15" will 100% fit if you did the customer drill hole a 2015" will 100% fit if you did the customer drill hole a 15% br>br>When it comes to the microwave, we appreciate not having to bend down to use it. Because there is no carousel, the amount of food you can put in the microwave is much larger than in a standard microwave; however, the motorized close/open can be a little slow at times.
