Questions & Answers

It was reported that some microwaves have cameras installed. Is this correct?

I'll tell you right now that this microwave has a camera. The little man in your fridge turns the light on and off, so this is how he knows to turn the light on and off in the microwave as well when you open or close it. Even though it is cheaper to have him do both, I am afraid of him!

A Consumer Reports review of this model has ever been done? Whether they liked it or not?

Rating of CR for stainless steel versions ) with a score of 74 and listed it as "Recommended.". In terms of heating evenness, microwave noise, and ease of use, it was rated "very good.". It rated "excellent" for both defrosting evenness and heating speed.

This unit comes with an inside light that is on when you open the door. Does the light come on only when you are ?

You are a master of your trade, son! Rather than interpret some printed material somewhere, I just opened the door, and the light appeared. Since when I was a kid, I never saw a microwave oven with a light that was not turned on when the door was Having a safety net is a must, and it would be kind of silly not to have one.

I have the same problem with multiple panasonics and H98
3/5

In the following chronology, I describe my experience with three different Panasonic microwaves, including the one I used today. A Panasonic NN-700 I had circa 2007 was the forerunner to the one in use today The SN966S-P I used to have a 6cu (sorry, I can't recall if it was the same model number in 2007) which ran perfectly fine until October However, I had to recycle it since it rusted from inside, otherwise, I did not have any technical issues. I was pleased with that product and so I chose Panasonic A NN- grade was given to me in October 2014 Item No. SA661S At $10 for a 2-cubic-foot unit from WalMart, that's a great deal. In August 2015, this one failed due to error code H98 (i. e. An error has occurred in the magnetron The 1-mile distance was luckily under the limit Magnetrons are covered by a one-year warranty, so Panasonic service center replaced them for free with no charges related to labor and materials Each part. A second time, it failed with error code H98 in July 2017. As it is no longer under warranty, I was forced to throw it out this time.

Then, I wanted a better one that would last a while, and I found NN-. As RN686S. I wanted to give panasonic a test drive again since it looked decently premium in comparison to the earlier model. In August 2017, we bought this one from Amazon for $141. It failed last week (20th October 2018) with error code H98, after being operational for 14 months. We use it rarely (mainly to warm foods rather than cook anything) and maintain it well, so did not anticipate it to fail so quickly. Panasonic customer support was called so as to see if they would cover the repair, because the magnetron part is under a 5-year warranty (but the labor is a one-year warranty). There will be a charge of $10 for any outgoing calls from the automated voice assistant The warranty policy applies to the product. Even if I was fine with that, I never got through to a human from Panasonic customer service. There isn't a live chat feature on Panasonic's support website. You won't get any customer service from Panasonic. Consequently, I called the service center which is now located 20 miles from where I live. There was no charge for Magnetron, but it would cost $65 for labor, and they accepted carry-ins Repairs are only accepted on Monday and Tuesday Today is Wednesday. As of yet, I have not decided if I would pursue this course. Still, it looks as though none of the recent panasonic models run for more than 12 hours There has been a 15-month delay. I think there is a problem with the magnetrons' durability. If you want to buy a panasonic microwave, think of it as an investment for one year It lasts until the end of panasonic's warranty period). I've got an update for you. For the diagnostic, the panasonic service center charged $25. There is no power left in the inverter. As we are not covered by the warranty, it would cost $162 to replace the inverter. This means that my total cost was greater than the price of the microwave. The inverter, which was not covered by warranty, had burned out. I dumped it, so I got rid of Panasonic is not something I intend to buy.

There was a fatal H98 error after four uses, in less than ten minutes
3/5

It's true that I sometimes sound like Abraham Simpson when I rant about the good old days when appliances lasted virtually forever and were repaired when they weren't, but this time I am justified in my rant. The 10 year old microwave (passed down from my grandparents to replace my prior 15 year old microwave) finally failed, and as is often the case, nearly every unit with user reviews I searched (not just this one, but also Sharp and others) reported having a low rating. A premature failure of an item or a unit. So I placed an order for a touchpad unit with trepidation, and it quickly arrived well packaged and promptly. I was at first thrilled with its special features, such as sensors that reheat. Later, though, I remembered I should save the box. I had four delightful uses, the majority with sensor reheat, and I think I was cooking for less than ten minutes before the unit inexplicably failed, giving an error code "H98" (bad magnetron/inverter circuit), and it won't come back on. In just a few days, it will be returned in the (original, saved) shipping box, and I will haul it to UPS for a refund. The way they used to make 'em just doesn't exist anymore.

A FIRE was sparked! Buying this item in 2016 was a good decision
3/5

had to cook an entree from a frozen box that required four ingredients I cooked the chicken for 30 minutes, but after 2 minutes I heard it make a pop thump Thanks to being nearby, I was able to stop The microwave opened and black smoke wafted out as I raced into the kitchen. As soon as I unplugged it, I immediately unplugged it again. It was extremely hot to the touch on all sides. The entree I grabbed and placed in the sink in a bucket of water so that it would be moist. Fire alarms my security alarm company installed were sent by the fire department because the alarm set off. You guys are the best! Thanks ADT Security. Upon arriving at my house, the fire department removed my microwave and the charcoal black wet entree from my home. My dog was terrified as well. I was shaken and scared to say the least. I'm thankful the fire department was sent over to clear the smoke out of my house. Firefighters asked to open doors and set up fans to remove the smoke. The photo had only been taken three years before. It doesn't get a lot of use since I live alone. The danger could have been greater if I wasn't close by. If I hadn't been, my house could have caught on fire. There is an unpleasant smoke smell in my house still. This is not at all what I was expecting!.

The frying pan is huge, it cooks fast, and it's This is a great site
5/5

White seemed the best choice for me What you see is exactly what you get. There is a sensor that detects when the food is cooked Pick the food type from the legend that's inside the door (see my pic), push start and the food will be prepared! The food is cooked exactly as it should be, no guesswork required. a sensor rewarming feature, as well. Some people find the timer alerts bothersome (for example, pregnant women or sleep-deprived mothers). It is possible to set them so they do not I have a light that comes on when the door opens, and the light stays on when I am cooking Food is visible to the eye. The interior of the house is spacious. You can choose to delay the start of cooking, you can preprogram cooking stages (so many minutes at this power, then so many minutes at another power, etc. Apparently, you can program a pause in cooking, as well). You can choose to keep the bed warm for a maximum of 30 minutes. She was able to unpack her box and place it on the shelf above the range without too much difficulty. Crisping is the only thing it can't do I won't be able to fit those micros on my shelf because they're so expensive, too big, and too heavy. This is one of my favorites and it is a great price. With Prime, you don't have to pay for delivery. A few notes If you have any negative feedback about bubbles in the handle, please feel free to let us know. It is most likely that the person did not remove the protective cling film, which cannot be seen at first glance.
