For extraction to work properly, the liquid must be around 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, because milk is thicker than water, it is more likely to obstruct the filtering process.

However, you should be aware of what you are purchasing. I believe that many of the negative reviews of this product stem from a buyer's misunderstanding of what they're getting. To be absolutely clear: The espresso maker is not included; this is a larger water tank, an espresso cup, and an adapter to connect them all into one handy tube for storage and transport. The Minipresso GR, NS, and CA are all compatible with this item. br>br>Assuming, of course, that you purchased exactly what you intended to purchase. The tank is in excellent condition. Over-eating has never been an issue for me. /under- others have mentioned, such as tightening or leakage In fact, mine has a stop that allows me to properly tighten it by turning it until it will no longer turn. I'm not sure if this is a new feature, but it's there on mine. br>br>There are a few advantages to using the Tank. br>br>First, a larger espresso can be made. One fluid ounce (approximately 30ml) of espresso is a standard shot. You can make about twice as much, if not more, with the Tank. Now, if you use the same amount of coffee, the espresso will obviously be weaker. This is referred to as an "espresso lungo. " If you want full-strength espresso, simply replace the coffee after you've pumped out about half of the water to create an "espresso doppio. " If you have a Minipresso GR, you'll need to purchase an additional basket in order to make this change quickly. The Minipresso NS and CA models, in this regard, are, in my opinion, superior. br>br>The second advantage, in my opinion, is even better. One valid criticism of the Minipresso is that the water cools down quickly, resulting in a temperature that is not optimal. The more water there is, the longer it takes to cool down. As a result, you can fill the Tank with boiling water and only pump out half of it, resulting in a hotter espresso. (Here's another piece of advice: To pre-heat the tank and your espresso cup, fill them with hot tap water first. Warm them up, then discard the warm water before making your coffee. )br>br>I can't think of any major drawbacks to this, except that the Minipresso won't fit into the Wacaco case because of the larger tank. But that's not a big deal for me because I only use the case when I'm camping or traveling, and I'm more concerned with keeping the weight and size down than with having extra water capacity at those times.
I bought this extended tank for my son's Wacaco Minipresso so he could make the same types of espresso he makes at home while hunting/fishing/camping. My son loved the system so much that his friends wanted to try it too. The coffee system, according to my sources, produced coffee that exceeded my expectations in terms of taste, ease of preparation, and consistency. His other hunting companion was so impressed that he went home and bought the same set up for himself and his wife. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE WHOLE SYSTEM TO ANYONE WHO LOVES EASY TO PREPARE AND DELICIOUS COFFEE WITH THE BONUS OF BEING MINIMAL IN SIZE.
This accessory kit is nice if you can actually use your machine, but I was disappointed that it didn't include any additional baskets and that only the WATER TANK was included. If you have a working minipresso GR and you're looking for double shot or extra baskets, this is the place to go. This item will benefit you greatly. Don't waste your money if you don't have to!.
It has a lot of volume for two people, but it doesn't keep its temperature for very long.
However, I discovered that using it took about the same amount of time and effort as using the original tank to pull off a long shot. In the end, I don't believe it's worth the money if it doesn't save you any time.
It's practical, and it improves product availability.
The cup on my unit doesn't snap onto the end tightly enough to stay put (it falls off unless kept in a stuff bag), so I only gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.
It's a must-have.
