Yes, I've only ever used the Moocoo in this manner. Simple to make, but make sure to grind it very finely, preferably with a burr grinder. My issue with the Moocoo is that even after preheating all of the components, the coffee only comes out warm.
If you use a pin pusher to make a few "pin holes" at the bottom of the pod, the unit will work when the capsule is compressed against the bottom. I've had a lot of capsules that didn't work (but some did) because they weren't pre-filled. Before using the capsule, make the holes in the bottom.
You can foam with this device, and it's very easy to do so.
There are far too many variables to consider when it comes to keeping your espresso hot. Assuming you use boiling water, warm your provided espresso cup, sip your espresso next to a campfire, no cold winds are blowing in your face, and you drink it quickly - Yes, it will keep you warm for the duration of your stay.

It's a cinch to use. The cream is good, and the shot is powerful. The "glass" at the bottom does not get hot, so you can drink directly from it. Advice: I read a few negative reviews that claimed it didn't work or that the pumping was ineffective. After you've loaded and ready the water, it's critical that you secure and lock the pump first. Then unlock it to let go, allowing the button/arm to rise. This primes the pump so that it can provide the necessary seal and pressure for the action. Cleaning is straightforward, as one would expect from a travel device. If you're making multiple shots, all you have to do is disassemble it and wash out/replace the grounds in the chamber or replace the pod!.
Portable espresso machine that is great and affordable. My only complaint is that the advertising claims it can make a double espresso, which is incorrect. This is impossible to achieve. Only 1 tbsp (approximately 5 grams) of ground coffee can be stored in the canister. Technically, it's not even close to what's needed for a single shot (6-). 8 g). The water reservoir holds approximately 2 oz, which is sufficient for the minimum 2 oz double; however, a true double would require approximately 3 tbsp (15 g) of ground coffee, so it's not even close. In the end, you're left with a diluted double. It tastes good (like a cross between an espresso and an Americano), but it's impossible to get the right proportion. br>br>Coffee from the old city: br>Use 6 if you want to be more creative. 8 g of espresso per 1 cup of coffee 5 fluid ounces 15 grams of espresso per 2 fluid ounce shot ("single"), and 15 grams of espresso per 2 fluid ounce shot ("double"). br>br>It makes a decent single espresso with decent cream for a portable device, and it's simple to use and clean. Use a very light tamping pressure (almost zero pressure) if you're using a standard espresso grind for your coffee. br>br>Overall, a fantastic deal. I chose this product over many others because it claimed to be capable of pulling a double, which it does not. As a result, one star has been deducted.
This device is compact and capable of producing espresso-like results. br>br>Like another reviewer, I had trouble with this. On the first day, I was able to get a few shots, but on subsequent days, I was only able to get brown water. The water appeared to be avoiding the grounds entirely. In order to clean the device, you must also handle components that are still hot from the boiling water. br>br>The device appears to be great, but it can't earn more than one star if it can't do what it was designed to do. I went ahead and purchased a Flair, which has proven to be reliable. That device is made of metal and has orings in the appropriate places.
This little espresso maker has so far surpassed my expectations. It's simple to use and maintain, appears to be long-lasting, and produces excellent espresso. The unit comes with two bases: one for ground coffee and the other for prefilled pods. I've only used the ground coffee pods as a foundation. I use the included small scoop to dump freshly ground coffee beans (Peet's) into the coffee pod and tamp with the bottom of the scoop (note the manual says to use course ground but it seems to work fine with fine). When you put the cover on the water tank, make sure the hand pump is in the down locked position so that when you release it, it will prime with water. I boil water in a kettle and pour some into the collection cup to warm it before pouring into the tank to the max line. I'm pumping slowly, but it doesn't seem to bother me. The end result is an espresso with a strong flavor and a (surprisingly) thick crema. Some people complain that the coffee isn't as hot as they'd like it to be, and while I agree that it could be a little hotter, preheating helps, and you can drink it right away when it comes out, so I'm fine with it. One drawback I noticed is that there is a silicone flap between the base that holds the coffee pod and the water tank that doesn't come apart (I believe) and seems to stay wet/hold water even when the rest of it is dry, which could be a mold risk, but I haven't had any problems yet. Is it up to par with the best espresso I've ever had? No. But it's fantastic, and I'm going to use this little thing a lot because of the price, portability, and ease of use/cleaning!.
it was. However, it's possible that it's me. My initial rating was a five star. star. The first shot was flawless, but by the second day (today), I'd gone through four shots of prime espresso beans and was still only getting brown water. I tried grinding a coarser coffee to see if the finer espresso ground was obstructing the water flow, but it didn't help. Maybe it's just me, but this is consuming far too much of my time, so I'm returning it. Take note of the following: The photos from the previous day were fantastic. It's even better than some of the espresso cafes, so give it a try if you're looking for a small, portable unit.
