The glass could crack for a variety of reasons, one of which could be that the water you're using is too hot.
After conducting extensive research, I arrived at a ratio of 2:1. 1 gallon of water + 5 cups of coffee blend (This is based on the coffee manufacturer's recommended ratio of 2 tbsp per 6 oz water.) I don't make it difficult by adding water first, then coffee, then more water, stirring, and so on. I add 2. 5 cups coffee, 1 gallon water, and 24 hours later, you have a delicious drink.
However, depending on your preferences, I found that one and a half cups of coffee is sufficient.
Me too! Isn't it possible to purchase a new filter? Ours had a crack near the bottom. It appeared to be flimsy when we bought it, but it has lasted for over a year. Still, the manufacturer should provide replacement filters rather than forcing customers to either buy another full cold brew system from them or spend their money with a different company that does. That is the path I would take.

The bottom screen separated from the rest of the screen. br>I called "customer service" a few times and received NO REPLY! Why isn't customer service returning my calls, emails, or texts?.
This was fantastic, a dream in terms of ease, but after the fourth use, the screen became detached from the bottom, rendering it useless. Coffee grinds got into the cold brew, and there's no way I'm going to be able to make it again. I also don't see a way to purchase a new mesh cylinder. br>br>Br>br>**UPDATE** Wow- Initially, I gave it two stars because I was disappointed when it stopped working, but this company contacted me and REPLACED my set as well as REFUNDED my entire purchase due to the broken screen. I would recommend them ten times over simply because of their excellent customer service. It's a plus that there's coffee!.
It really works. There are a couple of things you can do to make a stronger brew:
1. You should purchase the darkest roast coffee you can find.
2. Fill it halfway with warm water and set it aside. This will make it easier to infuse the coffee into the water. It's not exactly a "cold" brew, but if you want a stronger brew, it'll suffice.
3. Leave the coffee and filter basket in there the entire time; there's no reason to take it out until you've consumed all of the coffee. br>br>Note: If you fill it with very hot water, don't close the lid tightly to prevent pressure from building up. Just leave the lid ajar. In any case, there's no need to keep it tight. When using the spigot, loosen it slightly to allow the coffee to flow freely; otherwise, leave it slightly loose all the time. br>br>P. The company's use of a METAL spigot is fantastic. They could have used plastic instead, but that would have been less appealing.
Sorry, but all of these smaller ships simply add to the workload. This is the ideal size for two people to last a couple of weeks. The mesh basket fits perfectly in the jar, and the spigot is completely leak-proof. free. I'm thinking about getting another one just to have more cold brew on hand!.
We've only had the opportunity to try it once, so we can't give it a fair evaluation because my wife dropped it on the kitchen counter after the first use, cracking it. When I mentioned that it had cracked in my reply to Camille, she immediately asked for a picture of it and insisted on replacing it, despite the fact that it was our fault; you can't ask for better customer service than that! I'm excited to get my hands on the new one and try some good cold brew. br>Once we've had a chance to try it, I'll write a product review.
I really like the Mason style jug with the spout for easy dispensing straight from the fridge. Make sure to treat the inside mesh filter with care. Our started to detach from the frame. When I contacted the company, they promptly mailed me a replacement! They were fantastic, and they stand behind their product! The new mesh filter hasn't caused any problems. This gallon "mason jar" was purchased at a local store. It is the highest-rated large cold brew dispenser system on Amazon, and it makes "style" cold brew. I've tried the Toddy system and then the OXO Cold Brew system before, so this isn't my first time with a cold-brew system at home. system for making beer Upon receiving the product, the packaging appeared to be quite secure; however, upon opening the package, I discovered that the filter had been crushed inside the jar (as seen in the attached photos). The filter was extremely difficult to remove, and once removed, it was folded and creased, making it impossible to replace in the jar. I contacted the vendor, and they promptly sent me a replacement filter, which was excellent customer service. br>br>I received the replacement filter, and it fit perfectly in the jar. I used my Cuisinart burr grinder (setting 18) to grind 13 ounces of the coarsest coffee, then filled a gallon mason jar with it and placed it in the fridge to brew for two hours. 3 days. After opening my fridge on the second day, there was a HUGE puddle of coffee dripping all over the produce and soaking much of what I had in my fridge with Tanzanian cold brew, which took more than 2 hours to clean up. After just two days, I had no choice but to remove the jar and drain the contents into three different containers. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the hex screw that secures the nozzle on the inside of the jar was loose, and I had to carefully tighten the screw with a small wrench. br>br>The coffee, while smooth, lacked body and was nowhere near the "concentrate" that I get from the Toddy, and there was a layer of coffee ground silt on the bottom of the containers I used, despite using the coarsest setting on my burr grinder. br>br>I decided to give this product one more chance before abandoning it entirely, so this morning I ground 13 oz of my favorite bean on the coarsest setting and loaded the filter, which was still intact and appeared to be in good condition after the previous brew. The filter, however, would not fit back into the jar no matter what I tried, and that was the final straw for me. TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL The DR Product concept is great, but the filter is terrible (2/2 defects) and the jar leaks if you forget to tighten the hex nut.
The 1 gallon is the PERFECT size for two people to last about a week. It's simple to clean, keeps the coffee fresh, and fits neatly in the refrigerator. Anyone who enjoys cold brew should give it a try. We were able to save time and money as a result of it.
