Yes, but fine ground coffee, as I do, will almost certainly need to be filtered and poured into another glass container. It's best to use coarse ground if you want a good brew.

First and foremost, I am a huge fan of this coffee machine. It makes a delicious cold brew and is simple to clean. The quality of the SS filter and cap is excellent. The carafe, unfortunately, is EXTREMELY FRAGILE. I've broken two of them now, and I'm not going to buy a third because they both broke in the same place at the base. I had just finished brewing a full pot and was putting it away when I accidentally tapped it against the shelf in the cupboard (I brew at room temperature). Coffee spilled all over the place, and I had to clean up after it. It was empty the second time, so I simply set it next to the sink and it broke. I was taken aback because the second one had been treated with even more care. For $40, I'm expecting a lot more durability. The same problem has been reported by a number of other reviewers. So be cautious when buying. This carafe, in my opinion, should be made of Pyrex. A 1L Erlenmeyer flask, which is nearly the same size and shape as this carafe, can be found on Amazon for less than $13. I have one that I use for brewing beer, and it is indestructible. That is the point. For $40, I believe Ovalware could produce a Pyrex version and still make a profit; this would make this the ultimate cold brew maker, and I would buy another one right away!.
This is a lovely cold brew coffee maker that I got for a reasonable price during Prime Day; previously, I had been making cold brew coffee in a mason jar with a cheese cloth sieve. My primary criticism of this brewer (in comparison to the mason jar) is that it produces cold brew coffee rather than cold brew coffee concentrate. There isn't enough caffeine in the coffee. This means that for the amount of coffee beans used, I am getting a lot less coffee. Wirecutter of the New York Times looked at other cold brewers who use the same brewing method (i. e. coffee grounds in a mesh tube) and came to the conclusion that the results were far too watery. That is a conclusion with which I must concur. I'm going to use my mason jar again, but it's a very messy method, so I'm thinking about investing in an OXO cold brew coffee brewer. br>br>Another point to consider is that, as other reviewers have pointed out, the lid is not airtight. I went out of town for a few days and returned to find that there was significantly less coffee than when I left. Evaporation or the cats stealing the coffee from the fridge, it's either one or the other.
I've never written an Amazon review before, but this product is incredible, and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. For the past two years, I've been getting my caffeine fix from a chemex/aeropress. However, I recently broke my chemex and was researching various "slow brew" coffee makers (clever, v60, press pot) when I realized I needed to switch to cold brew. 1 cup of cold brew concentrate vs. 1 cup of hot brew concentrate I could save three trips to the bathroom if I drank three cups of hot coffee. In addition, I live in Arizona, where hot coffee and summer do not mix. br>br>There are a few reasons why I chose this cold brew coffee maker. First and foremost, it is appealing to the eye. Second, a single batch makes enough for the entire day and the following morning. So I never run out of cold brew (my preferred brew time is 22 hours; I can the rest in mason jars and give it to friends). Finally, the filter is made of metal and can be reused. Some competitors' brewers use paper filters that must be restocked on a regular basis, which can be inconvenient. br>br>I've heard some people complain about coffee grinds mixing with the water, so I wanted to address it. Because the RJ3 uses a METAL filter rather than a PAPER filter, it will not filter out the ultra-fine sediments that occur when coarsely grinding beans. This is the same as a press pot or a french press. The tiny sediments, on the other hand, settle at the bottom of the beaker and stay put. The sediments will remain in the beaker when you pour into your coffee cup.
as you would any other "fine China" you might come across. I read all these reviews about it breaking in the fridge "in the middle of the night" (which I think is a load of nonsense). There was a leak everywhere. Clearly, you slammed it down too hard or used boiling water, which you shouldn't do if you're making cold brew. FOR A COLD BREW, USE WATER THAT HAS BEEN SET TO ROOM TEMPERATURE! Always. In any case, this is a fantastic product. It hasn't been a problem for me. It has a pleasing aesthetic. it accomplishes its goal I brought it into my office one day because the seal around the lid keeps the cold brew fresh for about two weeks (if it lasts that long). My coffee had run out by the end of the day. br>br>It's simply a fantastic product. I would definitely give this to a friend or family member who enjoys coffee just as much as I do.
This had piqued my interest. I didn't even make it through a single use. I poured a cup and walked over to the fridge to put it back in. Before I could get it to the sink, the base lightly bumped the refrigerator shelf and blew a hole in it, spilling half of the contents all over the fridge and floor. I'm used to working with glass, but this was a disaster. Now that I've read a few more reviews, I've noticed that the 1. This appears to be a common occurrence in the number five.
There are two significant issues: br>br>1) It isn't completely airtight - It's impossible to agitate the coffee while it's brewing without it spilling out of the pour spout because of the pour spout. 2) It's extremely delicate - After pouring my first serving, I set it down on the counter, and the glass broke, spilling coffee and glass all over my kitchen.
I give it an A for overall quality. Because of the numerous complaints about the glass being too fragile, I was hesitant to order it, but the glassware is not as thin as people portray it to be! It did not break when I accidentally bumped it on a coffee mug twice, as some other reviews claim. I also compared it to an Ikea beaker, and the two were nearly identical. It also came with a rubber holder, which I intend to keep. It fits perfectly on the bottom shelf of my refrigerator and is extremely easy to clean. I'm also going to look into purchasing more oval ware. I'm glad I found this product because the maker appears to be very high-end. If you like cold brew, I would buy it again or give it as a gift. When my coffee is ready, I can't wait to drink it! 😅.
