Yes, it appears that the carafe is sealed. The lid is held in place by a silicone ring. Turning it upside down, on the other hand, is probably not a good idea. I'm not sure how long it'd last. I've had iced coffee in the carafe for a few days and it's still delicious! I hope this has been of assistance.

br>br>Previously, we relied on a cold brew machine that pumped water over the grounds and produced 6 cups of coffee in 45 minutes. Because my husband works six days a week and drinks at least 32 ounces of coffee every morning, spending an entire day to make two gallons of coffee to store in a pitcher in the fridge every couple of days became daunting. br>br>Now, using this glass fridge jug, it takes me about 3 minutes to make enough for two days. br>br>I'll reveal a little secret to you. To figure out how to use this, I had to go through a lot of trial and error. Continue if you already know what I'm talking about. 1) br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b Fine ground coffee (preground from most places) will not be supported by the filter in this. You'll need a whole bean or a coarsely ground bean for this. You'll get grit in your cup if you don't do this. You can use tea bags, but I found it inconvenient to have to order them because I live in a small town with no empty bags. I also wanted to avoid incurring any additional costs. 2) br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b If you use whole beans, it's a whole new world of art to get a decent cup of coffee, and it took me about three days to get there. I may have made a mistake, but I'd had enough of experiments by this point. br>br>3). I calculated the cost of coarse ground coffee and discovered that it is more expensive than whole bean or fine ground coffee. It's ridiculous! br>br>So I discovered that I can quickly grind whole beans on my own (it takes about 30 seconds), and I use 18oz of whole beans, grind them in a small food processor (this way I can do a lot at once and not a small amount), scoop it into the filter, fill it with cold water, and refrigerate it overnight. It'll be ready in the early hours of the morning! br>br>In addition, I would only clean this with cold water and soap (of course). It's glass, and it spends the majority of its life in the fridge; I've read a lot of reviews that say it cracks easily, and I'm wondering if it's because of water temperature differences. Mine hasn't shrunk or cracked in any way. br>br>I hope this information is useful!.
There are no instructions included, so you'll have to figure out how much coffee to put in the strainer on your own. If you want to make a container that isn't quite full, the fill lines on the glass will come in handy. Other than that, it appears to be a well-made item.
Making my own cold brew with this gave me high hopes of saving money. The first batch was a success, lasting two weeks. After the second batch, however, I noticed a crack in the jar, which started to leak. There was no impact, no drop, one day it wasn't there, and the next day there was a crackbr>br>This lasted less than a month, and I'd recommend looking for cold brewing options elsewhere.
I understand that the majority of one-star reviews are insignificant, but they do add up. Do you want to be the 1% of 20 us who had a broken jar and had to deal with the mess we all probably had to deal with? You don't, in my opinion. This piqued my interest as well.
My husband is a huge fan of cold brew coffee, which he first discovered at Starbucks for $9. We found a cold brew bag at Walmart for about $7 that made a gallon of coffee. We used a pound of Doughnut Shop ground coffee for this photo, which is approximately 10. We only use about 2 cups of the 240 cups, so we save a lot of money. According to my husband, it's better than Starbucks. There is no need for energy drinks because there is so much caffeine (which saves us even more money).
Any way the quality, craftsmanship is 100%, easy to clean, fill up and reuse over and again.
What a clumsy piece of nonsense. It first arrived filthy, with a bent filter. Okay, no big deal; simply wash it and use it as is. The first day was fine, but the cap kept popping off. The filter did not keep the finer grounds contained when I used coarse ground coffee. Okay, fine, I'll make due (and drink stump water). Except on the second day, after I poured a cup, the cold brew began to leak slowly from the bottom. I didn't drop it or even knock it over, but the glass appears to be cheap and thin, and a slight breeze could crack it. I attempted to contact customer service but was unable to do so. WHAT YOU PAY FOR IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GET.
WOW! I bought it to make cold coffee, but it had a minor flaw when it arrived. I emailed Zulay's customer service department and received a prompt response - Saturday and Sunday! as well as a fantastic solution to my minor problem In decades, I don't believe I've ever encountered such attentive, courteous, and efficient customer service - From an online seller, this is truly remarkable. These people genuinely care about their customers and have the authority to make a difference. And the end result is fantastic - The glass itself is attractive. Thick and strong. The spigot is smooth and free-flowing, and there is a nice pre-filter. On the inlet, there is a strainer. To prevent leaks, it is well-sealed with silicone through washers. There are micro-holes in the coffee filter / infuser. It has excellent perfs, is sturdy, and is easy to clean without causing damage. I'm on my third gallon of cold brew, and it's fantastic! Thank you, Zulay, for putting your customers first and producing a fantastic product at an affordable price. This should be purchased. It will not be a mistake!.
This cold-brew system is fantastic! The brushed metal and the lovely glass carafe are my favorites. Iced coffee is a breeze with this cold brew system! To achieve a strong espresso flavor, I use really good ground coffee in it. It's very simple to use and clean in between uses. I've also discovered that you should only fill the center filter halfway with coffee grounds, or the grounds will not get wet. br> I also discovered that for stronger coffee, you need to steep it for at least 10 minutes. I was concerned that 12 hours would not yield enough cold brew, but after four cold brew cycles, we have enough cold brew coffee to fill another pitcher. The cold brew coffee system will pay for itself in just two more cycles. With all of the money we'll save from not buying Starbucks, I wish I had bought it sooner.
