A shard of glass exploded out of the bottom of the pitcher while the unit was blending the apple! No, I'm not talking about an explosion (as in what happens when the lid sits on the pot). I am talking about a 1-year plan The unit suddenly blows a shard of itself out of its entirety. As a result of its explosive force, the red juice flew more than 10 feet and stained almost every corner of my kitchen with red.
This is my first time using it, so I will update this post after I use it multiple times, but I must say that something has changed from the previous usage. My other unit seemed to have more power than this one and runs fine, but I'm concerned that something has changed. Furthermore, the turn dial is definitely a different component as the smoothness is not as good as the turns. As a child I had no problems rolling the unit dial and the resistance was just right. Neither I nor Vitamix knows if all 5200's are the same, or possibly all were made in the same year, but someone at Vitamix can provide some knowledge of a new parts supplier, and everyone can point the finger at the chin. I have to walk across the counter with my blender because the motor is so unbalanced. I found the sound to be way too loud.
