This KitchenAid Dough Hook is much too short for the K4SSWH Mixer, even though it's an official KitchenAid part. When you try to mix ingredients, the hook reaches only 3/4 of the way, and it doesn't even touch the ingredients when you mix them together. Though it says it is compatible, it isn't working with this mixer, even though it doesn't appear to work on other mixers. You don't want to make the same mistake as The device can't be used with this mixer model, so I had to return it.
Now that I've used it a few times, it's amazing how well it works. I had a problem with the paint chipping off the old one. This one seems to be lasting a long time.
I bought an off brand dough hook for my Kitchenaid mixer and it broke after three I have been using this one for quite some time now and so far it has been reliable.
I really like it. I lost the original, but this is exactly what it was.
