I hate it! In my haste to replace this switch, I forgot to take a picture of the wiring. Are you able to tell me how each of the 4 prongs is connected to the black and white wires?

In the switch you will see that white is the neutral and black is the hot wire. There are four wires two white and two black on either side. As far as I can tell from your question, never cross the white and black wires in an electric switch or connection.

The g 12 slicer is known to have a number of bad switches. What is the frequency of these?

There isn't a huge amount of commonality, though it depends on which slicer you use

In terms of installation, it took a couple of minutes. Connecting the three wires is easy. Remove the old switch, install the new switch, and snap in the new switch. It took me less than five minutes to do this. An Amazon price that is good.
