There is a noticeable difference in size between it and the medium shredder that comes with it. There is a medium and fine one, the medium being gray and the fine one being white, and the medium with one hole more. The one that came with it says "medium," but this one says "fine." The But most importantly, there is definitely less space between the holes now. This device does not achieve the same fineness of the fine shred I use on my hand-held box shredder, so it isn't as good as what I normally use for Parmesian and Romano, but it's eases the process.

You can get a lot of "replacement" cutters these days. Is the wear and tear on them rapid?

When it comes to shredding Parmesan cheese, the fine shredder work great. Make sure you go slow and exert very gentle pressure so that the particles are small.

I find it disappointing their easily breakable surfaces (on cheese! ? You know, maybe you can add an internal metal ring inside the plastic rings at each end, just to make it more sturdy designed to- Obsolescence distinguishes a consumer gouger from his competitors.
