Questions & Answers
It was made in China, according to the label on mine. It is, without a doubt, the best carafe I have ever had. At 5 a.m., I start making (percolate) coffee. 00 a.m. on weekdays, and pour it into the carafe at 6: 00 p.m. When I get home at 3 p.m., it's still hot.
2 3/4" is the inside distance between the two elements on the sides that hold the lid in place. The inner rim is 3 1/8" apart the rest of the way, and the outside measurement is 3 3/8" from side to side. 4 1/8" from the back of the rim to the front, including the pouring spout (not including the handle).
It keeps the coffee (or whatever else is in it) hot for a long time, but it isn't completely spill-proof.

The pot was a good size and worked well for a few months (keeping my morning pot of tea at 180 degrees for at least 4 hours), but a sloshing sound developed inside the pot a few weeks ago, and it stopped holding its temperature for as long as it had before. When I contacted the company, they claimed that the sloshing sound I heard was a "normal" rattling sound from the liner (which it was not). When I explained that it was a new sound accompanied by an equally new loss of heat retention, I was told that in order to meet the promised 5-year warranty, I would have to pay a fee. The unit would have to be free of "dents, dings, or external damage" for the first year of the warranty, and the exterior walls would have to get hot. Because that's how I roll, there are scratches (external damage) on the outside of the pot, and the vacuum compromise isn't enough to heat up the outside wall. However, it isn't performing as well as it once did- This is after only three months of indoor use, with handwashing only (no dishwasher). VALUE FOR MONEY IS NOT VALUE FOR MONEY. I am extremely dissatisfied with the firm. I assumed I'd be replacing my ten-year-old computer. year- When my old Zojirushi rice maker died, I replaced it with another from the same manufacturer, but this warranty nonsense has convinced me that I should deal with a more reputable company in the future.
1) Is this a Japanese product? br>I purchased this to replace a Zojirushi thermo that I purchased for my children in Japan 20 years ago. Even though the children have grown up, the water remains hot all day. I was a little concerned because a coffee maker of the same brand I bought in the US didn't work that way, but this one came in a Japanese package (complete with English and Chinese instructions), and my initial temperature measurements are promising.

My Technivorm coffee maker is excellent and still going strong after many years, but the thermal carafe has lost its heat and I've never been a fan of the cover. This is an excellent substitute. Fits the machine perfectly. br>In addition, the interior is made of metal rather than glass, and the top is simple to use.
To warm up the carafe, I filled it with hot tap water. My thermometer of choice is a Thermopen instant read thermometer. I let it sit for about 5 minutes before eating it. Then I drained the water and replaced it with new hot water at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature had remained at 130 degrees for four hours. The temperature had risen to 114 degrees Fahrenheit after 20 hours. I'm blown away.
This product was rated the best in its class by America's Test Kitchen, and they were correct. Keeps piping hot coffee hot for 4 hours or more. br>We've had carafes that couldn't keep the temperature for years. This product does what it says it will do.
It is STILL, BY FAR, the BEST carafe I have ever used in the last 40 years, after more than TWO YEARS! First and foremost, it is aesthetically pleasing. However, it is simple. Because of the design of the carafe's body, it keeps coffee hot for much longer than any other carafe I've purchased, AND it is SOOO easy to use: In a single motion, the top can be removed. Pour the coffee into the pot, which has a large enough opening to make THAT an EASY pour, as well as the fact that it's also easy to pour once it's in the pot. br>My 20-year-old GRANDson refers to me as "the connoisseur of everything," and I adore shopping for the BEST BUYS. This carafe has been one of my favorite purchases for making excellent coffee.
People use this for gravy, according to a tip I saw on the internet. What a brilliant concept! I got one for Thanksgiving dinner and it was perfect! The turkey gravy stayed hot for a long time and was easy to pour. For cleaning, I purchased an OXO bottle brush. It comes highly recommended!.
