Questions & Answers

Is it possible to completely remove the lid? Would it be able to support a porcelain drip filter on top of it without it falling off?

Unscrew the lid's top round section. The part below it, with the spout and the point where the top of the handle meets, must remain in place. That only unscrews if you want to remove the glass thermal jug from inside, as it keeps it in place securely. With the top portion unscrewed, a round lip with a diameter of 3 3/4 inches appears on top. Yes, it will sit there as long as the drip filter has a flat that will sit on that lip. The threaded section has a 2 3/4-inch inside diameter and a 1 1/2-inch hole in the flask. The gap between the hole and the top of the lip is just over an inch wide.

Is there a way to see the inside of this 1. Glass or stainless steel for an 85L thermos?

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's glass because there's a section in the carafe's care manual that mentions particles that may flake off of the inside of the carafe, similar to those found on natural glass. It's crucial to pre-warm or pre-cool any storage device of this type before filling it. For cold liquids, I use a Camelbak (stainless interior), which I find adequate even when left in a hot car for several hours.

With the cover removed, how big is the top opening?

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. The lid of the AFFB-100 has been removed. Beware! This isn't something you should buy! The carafe began to leak from the bottom after a few months
3/5

The manufacturer requested that I examine the glass liner and gasket to determine whether they were the source of the leak. The gasket was fine after inspection, but the glass liner had a flaw, which I discovered. Despite the fact that I attached a photo of the defect, the manufacturer does not consider it a defect, so I will not be getting a replacement. They included an email from another customer who was having the same issue in their email to me. I'm writing this review because I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this faulty product.

BUY THIS CARAFE AT YOUR OWN RISK
3/5

Pros: br>The taste of the contents is unaffected by the glass liner. br> br> br> br> br> br Highly effective lined vacuum insulator; retains heat for several hours. br>br>Cons: Zojirushi America is a company that does not stand behind its defective products. br>The lid cannot be washed or cleaned properly. After a few months of regular use, the lid develops a design flaw and stops working (getting stuck in the open position). br>There is a snag in the pour stream; splatters in directions other than the one in which you're pouring Without removing the cap, it is impossible to pour the last of the contents. br>It only holds one liter, not two. 85 liters (as stated on the label). br>Brushed steel covering that isn't completely sealed at the seams; The structure is poor. br>The swivel on the base is an annoyance to me that adds no value; The rotating base, on the other hand, may appeal to some. br>br>The company selling this carafe, Zojirushi America, sells a subpar product and does not stand behind it. Apart from the fact that it is impossible to clean, the carafe's cap has a major design flaw that causes it to fail after only a few months of use. This is not detectable within the first 30 days, after which Amazon will take care of it. After 30 days, you must contact the manufacturer, who will not assist you. br>br>The cap has a stopper that opens and closes via a button on the carafe handle, which is already a negative because it cannot be washed, only rinsed. The issue is that after a few months of use, the mechanism inside the cap that opens and closes it becomes skewed and eventually reaches a point where the stopper opens so crookedly that it remains stuck in the open position. You can't use the open/close button to close it after that. The cap suffers from a fatal design flaw. When it gets to that point, the only way to close it is to unscrew and remove the cap, then tap the stopper with your finger. This frees it from its stuck position, and the internal spring closes the door. This is unacceptably poor product performance, and the company should replace the cap at the very least. The business is not going to do it. br>br>However, even if they did, the long-term problem remains. The same thing happens with each replacement cap after a few months of use, which is a long-term problem. If you purchase this product, you will be doomed to failure due to the design flaw, and you will be further insulted when the company refuses to stand behind it. br>br>You can't clean it in the first place. That's a problem right away, even before you use it, but it's nothing compared to the fact that the cap will eventually stop working. Another flaw in the cap's design is that it allows coffee to pass through a hidden channel that is difficult to clean. This carafe can't possibly be cleaned. Only rinsing is an option. You can rinse it after passing cleaner through it to hopefully remove some of the coffee residue. However, because it is impossible to get a sponge or a brush into all of the affected areas, it can only be rinsed. That's a dreadful layout. Unfortunately, many companies' carafes suffer from the same inability to design cleanly. br>br>With the spout tipped beyond horizontal, you can't pour liquid. If you do so, liquid will flow into parts of the cap that aren't connected to the channel that leads to the spout, causing coffee to spill out of other orifices. onto the counter, the floor, or you Not good. And, because not all of the contents will pour out of the carafe without spilling beyond horizontal, you'll have to remove the cap to get the last of it. In addition, the design is poor. br>br>Inside, there's a good glass container; Although it is small, it is very effective. But I'm not sure why they made a container that only holds 2 liters. It's too small to be practical. Only the first 1 liter of coffee was brewed after 2 liters of coffee had been brewed. The carafe can hold 85 liters. The remainder is a zero. I'm forced to use 15 liters right away or pour it down the drain, which is a tragedy with my expensive coffee. br>br>I make Specialty Coffee that I buy from a Colombian coffee growers' association; the coffee is transported to the primary plantation from various small plantations all over the country, roasted at the main plantation, and FedExed to its customers worldwide; this coffee is made affordable by their organization and processes, but it is still rather expensive. br>br>On the high end, I occasionally make a 2-cup Specialty Coffee. liter batch with a price tag of nearly $34 I use 80 grams of beans per liter of coffee, for a total of 160 grams per 2-pound bag of coffee. batch size of liters The most expensive coffee is usually around 21 cents per gram, which works out to $33 for 160 grams of coffee. Each batch consists of 60 people. The average price per gram of coffee is around $7. At around $11, it's a lot less expensive. It's not cheap, but it's not cheap either. br>br>As a result, I'll need a carafe or some other non-alcoholic container. To hold that pricey coffee, you'll need a stainless steel dispenser. The stainless steel carafes, for some reason, use steel that has a metallic taste to it. This is completely unacceptable. I'm still baffled as to why this is the case. I use a stainless steel gooseneck kettle and a stainless steel filter, but neither of them impart any steel flavor. Carafes, on the other hand, appear to be made of a different type of steel. My carafes and dispensers must therefore be made of glass. lined. br>br>This carafe is made of glass. lined, if a tad on the small side. The only thing this carafe has going for it is the glass lining, which keeps the coffee hot for several hours. A carafe that doesn't have a lid, on the other hand, is useless. All of the glass's virtues are negated by the cap's built-in flaws. linings have been ruled out. I paid $52 for it. br>br> This carafe will set you back $46. 50. If the thing breaks down after a few months and the manufacturer, Zojirushi America, refuses to make good on the purchase, it's not worth the money, even if it's a fraction of that price. br>br>My advice is to avoid this poorly designed product entirely, and save yourself the agony and misery of dealing with Zojirushi America when it fails.

Zojirushi will not be held liable for defective products
3/5

Many years ago, when I first encountered the Zojirushi brand, it was with the Air Pots in our office. The product withstood a lot of abuse and proved to be durable and effective at its job - maintaining the temperature of drinks br>br>So, when I was looking for a home carafe a while back and remembered the Zojirushi Air Pot, I looked into their options. Eventually, I made the decision to purchase this 1. 9L carafe (AFFB-1) On Amazon, you can find it for 19S. br>br>As soon as I unpacked it after it arrived, I noticed something strange about the inside of the glass vacuum liner. The interior had splotches of grit completely "glued" to the glass surface, rather than smooth glass (see attached photos). But, because I didn't need it right away, I set the bottle aside and forgot about it until recently. I've experimented with various cleaning methods - Nothing works, and the grit remains firmly attached to the interior glass wall, despite the use of coffee pot cleaners, glass bottle cleaners, descaling solution, and so on. br>br>And while that has been aggravating, it pales in comparison to the demeaning treatment I received from Zojirushi when I attempted to obtain a replacement glass liner for my broken carafe. Their "customer service" team told me that their manufacturing process "may give the liner the appearance of slight texture in the surface but this is not the surface of the glass," WHICH WAS IN DIRECT CONTRADICTION TO WHAT I TOLD THEM AND WHAT EXISTS INSIDE THE GLASS LINER. So, despite the fact that I have the carafe and can feel the "sandpaper" interior of the glass, the Zojirushi "customer service" team appears to believe that their customers are either incompetent or liars. ZOJIRUSHI'S CUSTOMER SERVICE, IN MY OWN OPINION, IS NON-EXISTENTIAL. The way EXISTENT treats its customers is completely unacceptable. br>br>I will no longer recommend this company's products, and I will never purchase another one from them.

Relationship between two people who love each other but despise each other

Likes; It kept my coffee hot for hours and has a glass container inside, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on whether it shatters. However, the insulation is adequate, and the container holds 34 ounces. liquid. The button you press clicks easily, and the top of the button indicates whether it is open or closed. dislikes; dislikes; dislikes; dislikes; dislikes; dislikes; dislikes; dislikes; dislikes; It's just way too big on the outside; I should have measured, but it's about 11" tall and wide on the outside, and it looks like it should hold at least 50 people. Weight: 60 oz Because of the small mouth opening and the fact that it's made of glass, you should use a tall plastic spoon to stir anything inside. Also, hot and cold liquids should be avoided because they can shatter the glass. The screw top lid, however, is the most vexing feature. Yes, it closes securely and the side button works, but the inside of the lid is impossible to clean. There's a tiny opening and a button, and you can try to clean it with a pipe cleaner or straw brush, but it's extremely difficult, and you'll end up with leftover coffee residue inside the cap that you can't clean properly. You shake the lid and hear a liquid inside, which you can't get out no matter what you do. Because you can't clean it thoroughly, weird coffee flaky particles eventually emerge, yuck. As a result, I will not be using this design.
