This might work, but most KB's only come with a glass carafe. This is the first time I've seen a thermal carafe for that machine.
If your coffee maker has a hot plate, that is not the case.
The carafe, like a Thermos, has a double steel wall. It keeps coffee hot for at least an hour, and in some cases even longer.
Just bought it, and it keeps coffee hot for several hours, especially when we remember to warm the interior with hot water first. It was well worth the money. The only thing I don't like about it is the size. I'd like ten. I'll add another 20 ounces of coffee to the pot.

In 2006, I bought my first Moccamaster. I ordered a replacement carafe from Amazon in 2015. There were no problems at all. I just bought this carafe for the second time (a few days ago) and will have to return it due to a size incompatibility. The black plastic insert around the interior portion of the rim has been removed from this particular unit. It also says "Technivorm Moccamaster" instead of just "Moccamaster," as my other two carafes did. When the brew through lid is in place, the carafe is too tall for my machine due to the difference in the rim interior. I always brew my coffee with the lid in place. In any case, when I contacted Technivorm, I was told that two different types of carafes are now being produced. The variations are due to the origin of the manufacturing plant. In any case, both carafes should work in the same way. They don't, to be sure. As a result, I'm posting this in the hopes of assisting other customers. This new style will not work properly with the brew through lid in place if your carafe is like mine. I'm going to contact Technivorm again to see if they have any "old style" carafes available.
My original carafe began to leak around the internal seal, so I had to replace it. Except for the cap, which does not fit well, this is a great replacement. Turning it is difficult, and there is no obvious "pour" point. There appear to be plastic burrs on the inside of the cap that prevent it from turning easily. I'm going to try it with a small file to see if I can free it up a little bit.
After 20 years of using my Technivorm, I noticed that the outside of the pot became warm at the end of the brew cycle, and the coffee became cold much faster. I ordered a replacement carafe after determining that the vacuum between the walls had failed. I now have a pot with a cool exterior, as well as coffee that stays hot for several hours. Moral: Nothing is everlasting.
I just placed an order for a replacement carafe. The first quit keeping the coffee hot after a few years. I noticed that the carafe was quite warm to the touch after brewing, and that the coffee became cold after a few hours, so I ordered a replacement carafe about 18 months ago. It worked fine, but after brewing, I've noticed that it's also getting hot. So I placed a second order. I like the product overall, but if I have to replace the carafe every 18 months, I'll probably look for something else.
Several years ago, I was given a Technivorm Mochamaster as a gift. I like the coffee brewing system, but the carafe itself was a weak link at the time. It didn't keep the coffee hot, though. I recently lost the original carafe in a cross-country move. The handle was damaged as a result of the move across the country. I ordered a replacement carafe and was pleasantly surprised to discover that, despite its similar appearance, the carafe now keeps the coffee piping hot for much longer than the original. I'm very pleased with the system and plan to continue using it for many years.
It was impossible to secure the through lid. I own three Moccamaster KBTs and enjoy them immensely. This is the best cup of coffee I've ever had. When the plastic strap that secures the carafe handle and holds the carafe's top and throat together broke, the problem began. I ordered a replacement because it was past its warranty period, but the brew- The threads on the carafe's through lid would not engage. There didn't appear to be enough threads in the carafe's throat. I returned it and received a replacement, which is exactly what I needed.
Bought this as a backup carafe in case I needed it when we had company.
After an hour, the coffee was still warm for some reason. This new one can keep it hot for up to 4 hours.
