You don't have to use a bunch of paper filters when you use this easy to use system. A potential buyer should only be cautious about how to clean and handle their new items. It took about a year for the bottom of the screen to split where it was attached to the frame. The fault definitely lies with me. Although it is cheap, the one sold by Amazon Warehouse is substandard. First of all, it does not fit well and is stiff. I also notice that the used grounds are caked onto the side of the filter when I empty them, requiring me to use another utensil to remove approximately 80% of them. All of the rest are stuck and can only be retrieved under running water down the sink. The only thing we can possibly do is to return to a paper filter until we can find a Cuisinart gold filter at a store that is genuine.
It has standard Chinese build quality, and it is simple to operate. A warning I didn't learn until I started reading the instruction manual about how much a "cup" is until I got to the end!
