I was able to get the Vitamix for a reasonable price, but I still have to purchase It tells me that there has been tampering If you have a Vitamix, you MUST have one of these. The price of this tamper (plastic stick) was $16. Despite the fact that it seems like it would last for ages, I never put it in the dishwasher. In less than two weeks, I found that the seam of my $16 plastic stick had split It is gross. My next step was to contact Basically, they said I should send it back at my expense and live without it until they send another or if they don't. Wow, thanks for the kind words. Thus, I devised a method of drying it by the sun on the sill of the window, which I believed to dry I find a few months later that pieces break off and get into Is this something that was made in a certain country? Does it belong to the original Vitamix line? Is there no reason why they wouldn't.
I am highly disappointed with the quality. In addition to its unpleasantly light weight, the plastic is cheap, and unlike the original Vitamix tamper, it's not even moulded together. As far as I can tell, it is made up of two parts glued together like the cheapest thing you have ever It's also priced at $18, which I find to be a bit steep for this quality I'll go. There doesn't seem to be anything food-related about it Probably plastic of a higher grade (it might be This does not seem to be the case). Was this the new Vitamix quality, or did Amazon send me some fake stuff by mistake? The manufacturer should find this post if it happens to be found Is there any reason, at this price, not to make it from silicone instead of plastic?.
I purchased this to fix the problem. Due to the water getting trapped in the container, it would leak out when I took it out and even worse, when I bled Consequently, I threw it away and ordered this one instead. My heart sank as I realized I had solved the problem. I'm not interested. After a first wash, there is already water on the inside of this new tamper. The original tamper was not like this one because it had a plug at the top. that is where the water is leaking. It's true that I understand that since the opening is at the top, nothing will leak into my smoothies. In this case, however, I have to find it much more annoying and gross that now I have a little pool of water permanently inside my tamper that has no idea what is going to grow in it when time goes on.
The Vitamix 5200 tamper I accidentally chewed up after accidentally chewing this up was the same as the one from my Vitamix 5200. (It wasn't)
The main difference between this version and the original was that the original was made from a This model can bend when mixing heavy ingredients because it is more flimsy and flimsier. It is used daily by me to make Acai bowls, which are substantially more dense than your average smoothie, and after using it every day for a few weeks, the protruding ring near the top split open in several places because it bent each time In this way, water and other materials could penetrate the tamper and make it very difficult to keep clean and As for basic use and mixing substances, it works just fine however, if you’re going to blend ingredients that are heavier, you still need the original tamper.
It's a cheap product. When I ordered this to replace my old item, I was disappointed by the quality difference between this item and that which As my blender came with a tamper, the plastic on this product was much thinner than the tamper that came with it.
As soon as I opened the package, the part that prevents the blades lowering and contacting the container was crushed. It was disappointing.
Though it works and costs right, the product feels flimsy and cheap. The product could be confused for a Fisher Price product if it had other colors. It is blow molded, like a cheap tool box from Harbor Freight, and other than being black and plastic, it has no other similarity to the tamper for the classic containers. There is something that makes me wonder if this is a counterfeit product, but it is embossed with the Vitamix brand name and looks similar to what is available on their website.
As far as I can tell, it's the same one I originally received with my Vitamix. The one I had was misused, so I threw it away before I received this one, so I couldn't compare them.
