It's been three months since I've had the dishes. I did the same thing as you and read all of the reviews. One reviewer bemoaned the fact that there was a serious chipping issue. That's why I purchased an extra set. I, on the other hand, have yet to chip ANY dishes. They're sturdy and long-lasting. I put them in the dishwasher and wash them normally. I'll say that these dishes are very nice and deserving of the same level of care that you would give to a finely prepared meal. They are fantastic!
They aren't particularly light, but they aren't particularly heavy for this type of stoneware. If you want to look like you're wearing a beach shell, these are adorable.
Yes, we've noticed that the bowls heat up.
There are no singles in this collection. But if you want a backup set, go ahead and buy one. I did, but it's been a waste of money so far. They are very cost-effective.

These dishes have been on our table for the past two years. They've all taken a bite out of each other. The "glaze" appears to be cracking on a few of them. I had hoped for a far superior outcome!.
On July 9th, I purchased two of these sets. On July 11th, I received them. They've only been in the dishwasher for a month and one of them has already chipped. I found the piece at the bottom of the pile. On the edges, the color is beginning to fade. I attempted to initiate a return only to discover that I had missed the return window by six days. This is unacceptable, and the money spent was a complete waste.
They were her absolute favorite. So I immediately took note of this and put them away in case they weren't available for Christmas 2019. She just took them out of the package. My heart sank when I saw the words "one broken plate" on the plate box. She kept going until she reached the cups. "1 chipped cup 1 broken cup" was written on the box, and it really irritated me. The pattern is lovely, and she adores them, but it's a letdown to open a box full of broken pieces on Christmas morning.

This American company has been around for a long time, and I've heard how much people love their dishes, so I thought I'd check out Pfaltzgraff's styles since I was bored with an old set from another company. I chose this seashell pattern, but there were at least ten others on their website that I would have liked to have. Simple, non-floral, and unique was what I was looking for. Each item has a slightly different glaze, which is exactly what I wanted because it makes it look less manufactured. The dinner plates are ten inches in diameter. The bowls are 5 inches in diameter and hold 25 ounces when filled to the rim. Mugs are a nice touch, and there are seven to choose from. The smaller plates are 5 inches in diameter. I was apprehensive about shipping the dishes, but the box was large and well-packed. It arrived in two boxes: one large and one small. Then for each of the various items, such as dinner, mug, and so on. In four different boxes, they were then boxed with heavy paper. There were no chips or cracks, and I appreciated the company's efforts to ensure everything was in good working order. There are no complaints; the microwave worked perfectly, and there was no issue with the dishwasher. br>Update for November 2021 - After 6 months of faithful use, I am completely satisfied with them. I had no problems with the microwave or dishwasher, but I did chip the edge of a luncheon plate (my fault for dropping a mason jar on it) and was unable to save it. I'd love it if I could find a replacement, but I haven't been able to find one anywhere, including on their website; however, I'm still very pleased with these dishes.
Dinnerware is lovely! The actual color is more appealing to me than the blue shown in the photo. It's more of a mint green color.

The bowls are a great size for soups and chili, large enough to keep the soup from spilling. The cups are also generously sized, making for an excellent cup of coffee. Despite the fact that I have only had them for a few days, the dishes all appear to be of excellent quality and appear to be long-lasting. They'll be ideal for my Coastal Farmhouse renovation, which I'm currently working on. I would strongly suggest it!.
For over a year, I've been looking for a new set of everyday dishes, but living in Hawaii, I've been unable to locate any that could be delivered to my address. The subtle sand color, as well as the seashells around the plate's border, appealed to me, and they were ideal for my coastal lifestyle. br>I was relieved when my order was processed, but even more so when the dishes arrived a week ahead of schedule! They're absolutely stunning. I ordered four sets, and when I took them out of the boxes, I was astounded to find that they were all in perfect condition!br>Not a scratch or ding on any of them! The company is well aware of the need to ship fragile items. This set has made me very happy!.
