One plate costs $11, according to my research. Plus tax and shipping, it'll set you back $99 in total. I think I'll go ahead and get a second set.
The term "reactive" refers to the glaze used on the dinnerware, rather than the dinnerware itself. There are no special properties in the dinnerware that cause it to "react" to the food that is placed on it. Instead, the glaze that gave the dinnerware its color went through a chemical reaction during firing, usually melting or oxidation, to produce a specific pattern or variegation. Rather than being a flat solid color, the colors have a warm feel to them. The effect gives the dinnerware a more unique and artisan feel, and it's a big step up from plain white and solid color.
The plates and bowls begin to heat up. The handles of the mugs do not become too hot to handle when I heat liquids in them.
Six inches in diameter and 18 inches in circumference. br>Please note that the mugs' lids are not included. That was deceptive advertising.br> In any case, it's a lovely set.

I'll let you know as soon as I have more information.
When I first saw it, I was very happy. The glaze finish fades over time and becomes unattractive. When I called the company, they said that this is to be expected with a glaze finish and that there was nothing they could do about it. It's reasonable to expect a year's worth of use. I advised them to include this information in the item's description.
I put it in the dishwasher and gave her the task of emptying it. Amazon did an excellent job of expediting and insuring delivery. I was surprised that none of the pieces were damaged or chipped when they arrived. We ordered two sets, giving us a total of eight place settings. The colors and patterns were a perfect match for our kitchen backsplash. It's almost as if these were made specifically for us! My wife and I were both very pleased. What a fantastic purchase! I would strongly suggest it.
I spent a considerable amount of time looking for. Beautiful food. BUT- Be wary- I spent a long time looking for the right set until I came across these and fell in love with them. I love the colors and pattern. There is only one major flaw with the item. Eight of the twelve dinner plates are warped and rock on the table, while three of the lunch plates do as well. Amazon returns are no longer available. So, what do we do now? Don't click on the Gibson link above; it will take you to Gibson Guitars. After 30 days, there will be no warranty.
In my opinion, these are some of the most beautiful dishes I've ever seen. The only issue is that I bought two sets because I loved the first one so much, and the second one was equally as good and matched perfectly with the first. So I decided to purchase a third set just in case I break any dishes along the way or over time. The third set was not as well-matched as the second and first. The third set's small and large plates are even lighter and thinner than the previous two. This set's bowls are much darker, and the details aren't as good as the first and second. This third set, like bootleg little imposters, can be easily distinguished from the first two. I'm not sure if the time difference makes a difference, but I've had the first two sets for about eight months and the third set for only a few weeks. They're lovely and well-made, aside from the inconsistencies. I've made a few dishes so far, and I've gotten a few compliments on them.
This set's colors are deep and rich. This is stunning! We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the bowls and mugs - These plates are a good 16 oz size, not the usual 8 oz size that comes with dish sets, and we were pleased to see that the back side of the plates are the same lovely reddish-brown color. Brown in color, similar to the bowls (as seen in the photos). br>br>The only caution I would issue is that the plates and mugs' exteriors are not a light beige as shown in Amazon's product picture. The true color is taupe (as shown in the photos I uploaded). This is a set that I would still recommend. We're completely satisfied, and the food is stunning. br>br>I'm a little concerned about other reviews claiming that the plates and mug handles cracked or broke after being washed. I'll keep an eye out for that, and if we run into the same issue, I'll update this review. br>br>3/3/19: br>br>Update: With daily use, the dishes have held up exceptionally well. cleanings of the dishwasher on a regular basis Two of the mugs' handles have broken off, but I'm still so pleased with the set that I'd rather buy an extra one to use as a replacement or epoxy the handles back on.
These dishes have a lovely color scheme and design that make for a lovely table setting. They complement the mission-style architecture of my home. They aren't as substantial as I had anticipated from stoneware. It appears that they are easily chipped. I already had a couple chips after just putting them in the sink with other dishes after the first week of use. I've used other stoneware before and never had a problem. The plates are large, and the dinner plates could almost be used as a platter due to their size. I have to put them in the dishwasher in a staggered order and tip them to fit under the water dispenser. Overall, they're nice dishes; I just wish they were built a little bit more robustly.
I've had these for a little over a year and there have been no chips or scratches. I'm very pleased with them. I put two in the oven last night, as instructed, to print right on the bottom, and both plates cracked in half after only a few minutes. DO NOT BELIEVE THE LABEL ON THE BOTTOM, AND DO NOT USE IN THE OVEN. br>I wish I could replace two plates without having to purchase the entire set.
