I wouldn't do it.
China
The assumption can be made that because "Fine China" is designed to withstand hot foods, the plate warmer's temperature of 160oF will not be an issue.

It does exactly what it says on the tin, it's attractive, and I'll be using it on a regular basis. I used to warm plates in the oven, but they were always too hot to handle. After that, I tried soaking them in hot water in the sink, then drying them on a dish rack or using a towel. When all I want to do is get the meal on the plates and keep it warm, it's all fussy and time-consuming. Though it seemed a little excessive to pay so much for such a basic device, I'm over it now that I've seen how quick and simple it is to operate.
The heating is a little uneven, which could be due to heat rising, but it's otherwise fine. Because the 10 plate capacity is based on having two plates between each fold, it works better with just five plates.
This is my third plate warmer (they last a long time but break eventually). It's simply too hot right now. Of course, I paid for something to warm up plates, so complaining about how hot they are seems ridiculous, but a plate warmer should do exactly that - Warm plates keep the food warm until it's time to eat it. That was the case with my previous plate warmers. The plates are quickly heated to a temperature high enough that touching them with bare hands for more than a second or two can result in minor burns. So, while it warms the plates, it isn't safe or practical for use in a typical home kitchen.
It has a capacity of over ten. This was a last-minute purchase for a party. When I put the item in my shopping cart, the timeline said it would arrive the day after the party; however, it arrived two days earlier - It's supposed to hold 10 plates, so it's a nice surprise. I had no trouble fitting 16 in, and they all heated up beautifully. It's slim and light, making it simple to set up out of the way to heat the plates and then store. This isn't something you'd do on a regular basis. It's a great way to keep everything warm during food service if you're serving a large crowd at a sit-down event, and it's a lot less expensive than anything similar on the market.
This is a great product for preheating your plates before you eat. Allow enough time for your plates to heat up before you eat. My heating pad reached a temperature of 150 degrees, but never reached the advertised 160 degrees. Also, putting the heating element into the washable cover is difficult. I like the product, and your plates can withstand temperatures of up to 150 degrees.
It would be nice if it could hold more than ten dishes. I double-stacked the extra settings I required and they were still adequately warmed.
I'm not sure how else to put it.
The addition of a simple plate warmer to even the most basic of meals adds a touch of class. My preferred method is to use a BB-gun. The warmer is automatically turned off after a preset time with the ZLINK countdown timer switch.
