In our family, we use a lot of paper plates This is not acceptable in our culture), and we have under plates made of wicker to steady the paper plates. My old ones are now all falling apart, so I ended up using these plastic plate holders instead. Now that we've used them a few times, we're satisfied with their performance. The plates simply support the paper plate, they should be easy to clean, and they shouldn't get damaged unless we throw them around, step on them, etc. It should be a long time before they need replacing.

They're strong enough to carry food around into dining areas without having to double or triple the number of paper plates. I save money on paper plates when I microwave food. A bowl of soup up to 12 oz can be served with it. Food is protected from getting too hot with this mitten.
