It also required a lip or edge to keep the dome in place. Some are flat, and I've read that the dome moves around in some reviews. This one had a raised lip and a ten-inch 'flat' part. I was on the fence about ordering it because my dome is 11" tall and I didn't want to risk it not fitting properly. The dome, to my surprise, fits perfectly over the new cake stand, and the only way I could be happier is if it were made in Ireland, which it is. It's a lot nicer than the one we had previously. And the dome couldn't be more secure or perfect. The person who chipped the old one is relieved that we were able to get a replacement so quickly and to our satisfaction. With Christmas just two days away and baked goods to fill the domed cake stand, we won't miss a beat. The only reason it's only four stars is that I'm told it's made in China, which I try to avoid. However, I have yet to confirm this. I'm very pleased with it, regardless of where it was made. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: br>br>I'm changing my review to a 5-star rating because I thought about it and decided that I shouldn't take away stars just because it wasn't made in Ireland, especially since it's a great piece for the money.
For any shower or party, the glass adds an elegant and contemporary touch.
The base of the cake plate had separated from the plate when it arrived, which was a disappointment. Aside from that, it's a lovely and substantial cakeplate.
Our cake was called Forever In Love and it came from a Publix grocery store in Georgia. This cake plate will withstand any edibles you wish to place on it. I got a lot of positive feedback. This cake stand has a lot of applications in my mind.
It's very attractive, has a good weight, and is well constructed. The first purchase was given to someone as a present. I was pleased, as was the recipient. So, I made a promise to myself that I would purchase one of these cake plates. I've already put it to use. It is both visually appealing and functional. It has a nice gleam to it and appears to be much more expensive than it is. It arrived on time and in good condition. This plate, for example, is one of my favorites. It is highly recommended.
The package was well packaged and arrived in one piece. The glass is evenly clear and has a nice design, which will be ideal for my application (a small, simple tiered wedding cake), but may be too much for everyday use. I looked for a clear glass pedestal plate but couldn't come up with anything; It was difficult to find one that sat evenly in the glass and didn't have a lot of bubbles. It's crystal, according to the box. There's no mention of "lead crystal" on the plate; perhaps there's a sticker somewhere. It makes no difference to me. The box has a preprinted MSP of $50 - it does not have the weight of other crystal pieces I have, and it does not have the weight of other crystal pieces I have. I made a $25 payment. It will most likely be given to the bride and groom, despite the fact that they may not appreciate the style and may not use it.
It's a lovely centerpiece as well as a fantastic cake stand. I purchased mine along with an Anchor Hocking Aubriana cake dome, and they were a perfect match. I recommend purchasing both of these items at the same time.
