I don't recall receiving foam in the lid of my shipment, but I assume it's just packing.
The spice jars shown here are the most basic. I won't grind peppercorns, and if you want salt, that's fine too. They are, however, attractive. ) This is just my personal opinion.
I've never seen a 12-year-old before. I do, however, have some left over from my 48-piece set. I didn't need all of them, so if you're interested, I'd be happy to sell you some of them.

It's nicely packaged and appears to be of good quality, but there's a catch: There is no way to seal or tighten the lids. After I realized that after the second bottle I filled (Cumin and Onion Powder), I was hesitant and decided to hold off on the rest. After about two weeks, I tried to use the onion powder and discovered that it had formed a large "clump" (apparently due to moisture/air). The second issue was that while it was nice to have all those pretty labels/stickers, the glue did not adhere to the sticker when I removed it from the backing paper, so I had to cover the label with scotch tape when applying it to the jar. Returning them would probably be too much of a pain, but I will (unfortunately) transfer any other spices to these. Last but not least, and this is entirely my fault, I cook frequently, and one of the most frustrating aspects of most spice containers purchased in a grocery store is the small opening. I knew I could fit at least a teaspoon into the opening when I bought this set. Can't do. That's my fault once more.
When I cook, I prefer things to be organized, so I spent a lot more money on the round jars I have now. I have a pull-out spice drawer with three shelves that I love, but the round containers don't fit as well, and I don't like how the tops collect spice around them. So I went on the hunt for square jars with lids that fit over the shaker tops and fit nicely. I would have had to buy each one separately for the price, and while it did come with spice, I was looking to replace the messy round jars. As a result, this was a good fit. They have printed labels that fit everything and then some, though some labels are strange because I wouldn't put that in a small spice jar, but they also have almost a full page of blank labels and a chalk pen to print any labels you might need that aren't already printed. They do, however, have almost everything except special blends, as I previously stated. br>br>I also like that they have a variety of shaker lids to choose from, such as smaller to larger holes, lift up tabs with holes, and so on. br>br>The only issue was that they were hazy when they arrived, but I planned to wash them anyway, and they came with a small cleaning brush, so they look fine after washing. br>br>I like how they look on my shelf, and because they're square, they'd fit nicely in a drawer. I'd buy these again if I found I needed more after these were used up. More blank labels and a finer-point chalk pen are two things I'd like to see. However, those are minor issues with which I am comfortable.
br>47 of the 48 survived the initial run in the dishwasher. br> br>To maintain a consistent appearance, labels are used for a variety of spices and other pantry items such as various dried beans. br>Size is ideal for spices, gifts, or single-servings of protein powder with dry supplements. br>br>Cons: br>The lids appear to be a little flimsy. Air bubbles were viable 2/5 of the time in an airlock test, but water penetrated 4/5 of the time. br>After filling jars with spices, adding platic caps, and replacing lids, labels were not always parallel when placed on top of lids while tightened on jars. Overall, the price was the most affordable at the time of purchase. br>br> I'm really looking forward to having an organized spice drawer (which is currently in the works)!.
The box was undamaged and in good condition when it arrived. The thickness of the screw-on lids, if any, is the only disappointment. Not every one of them is well-formed. They have the feel of thin aluminum and will warp if you apply moderate pressure. They're a little too skinny for my taste, but I don't mind. They're still a good deal, in my opinion. I purchased the 48-piece set in order to share the larger spice sizes. I'm not concerned about the containers' longevity because I won't be getting them back. It's a no-brainer to purchase a 1 pound spice container. br>I also enjoy trading spices and replenishing them every 36 months. I can do that with the help of these low-cost containers.
I needed these to transfer all of my spices to a spice rack I made myself, and they worked perfectly. The spice rack was designed to fit the bottles snugly, and while I used the actual bottles to get my measurements, the bottles are a bit irregular, and their dimensions vary slightly from one another, so it was a bit of a puzzle to get them all to fit into all the little cubbies. But I imagine this is a niche issue, and storing them in a drawer or on a shelf is a non-starter. issue. I expected a few to arrive broken, so I ordered enough to have extras. Because the lids are a little thin, one or two of them arrived dented, and another didn't have the corrugation at the top.
One that was very fragile shattered when it fell to the ground. The wording is not to my taste. I had to remember pepper lemon instead of lemon pepper because I put mine in alphabetical order. Alternatively, instead of using popcorn seasoning, season your popcorn. However, it looks lovely in my cabinet and is exactly what I had envisioned.
I liked how they included so many labels, including labels for common pantry items like flour and sugar, as well as different shaker lids, a funnel for pouring, and a small brush for cleaning them. For the spices, I made my own smooth plastic funnel because the rubbery type funnel grabs the spices and doesn't pour them in smoothly. However, if you want a uniform and well-organized look, these are a must-have!.
With these jars and labels, I can now quickly locate any spice. These make cooking a lot easier for those who like to use a lot of different spices. Screw-on lids keep the spices fresher for longer.
