No, not without bending it open, which defeats the purpose of using sugar cubes in the first place.
I did the dishes by hand and am not sure if they should be put in the dishwasher.
Metal - make a good impression at tea
Is this some sort of prank? Is it true that spoons, forks, and knives are ant-proof? Sugar tongs work in the same way.
Selected User Reviews For Rose Handle Sugar Tongs-silver Plate
The tongs arrived on time, and they were delivered by an Amazon Logistics carrier who was quick and efficient. Certainly, the cost is fair. The stamped "Rose" motif is appropriate, if a little overdone. I thought the "spoons" were a little too splayed to handle my Gilway Demerara sugar cubes, but they worked fine. There wasn't a present box to be found. Unfortunately, "Stainless Steel" is stamped firmly into the crook of the tongs, despite the item's description. (UPDATE): The vendor has complained to me about the tongs, claiming that they are truly silver-plated. plated, despite the fact that "Stainless Steel" is impressed into the crook of the merchandise; I can't say what the surface composition of the tongs is at this point, but I can certainly predict that a product stamped "Stainless Steel" but sold as silver plated will cause confusion in the American marketplace. One and a half stars.
The mini tongs' appearance is what sells them - gleaming silver with a rose design embossed on it. It adds a touch of class to the dinner table. I persuaded them to forbid my family members from serving themselves with their fingers. These tongs, on the other hand, aren't as versatile. I would have liked it if it had served a different purpose. They are effective at detecting non-toxic substances. Lemon wedges, for example, are slick hunks of food. Avocado and cucumber slices do not fare well in this situation. They are difficult to use without a firm grip, and they pinch soft foods or slip out of the ends due to the lack of friction. I'm sure they're great for sugar cubes, but we don't have any in our house.
Tongs that are very nice. They have a sophisticated appearance and are the ideal size for sugar cubes.
It's about what you'd expect for the price; it's functional and inexpensive, and I'm satisfied with it overall. This was exactly what I needed in terms of multiple tongs.
My daughter discovered two tongs that worked but weren't exactly what I needed. These are perfect! The rose pattern is lovely, and the stiffness was only temporary; they "loosened up" in two days. They're just right now.
It serves its purpose well, but it appears to be silver-plated. There is a lack of quality.
When I serve tea, I like to use cubes of sugar. People don't get greedy with the sugar because it's kept in the right amount. These tongs are extremely attractive.
These were bought to go with my stainless steel coffee set. Despite the fact that I recently purchased a Nespresso machine, I don't use it nearly as much as I should. However, it's now more of a living room display piece, and I'm always getting compliments on how adorable the little tongs are sitting in the empty sugar dish. Lol.
