Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Our Chef, Slicer, Utility, Santoku, and Paring cutlery is made from high-carbon German 1. They're made of 4028 stainless steel, which gives them a razor-sharp edge that lasts for a long time.
Knives can be sharpened more easily and quickly with the integrated sharpener, ensuring that they perform at their best. This diamond grit sharpener achieves a razor sharp edge after each sharpening, which is superior to honing. There's no guesswork when it comes to sharpening before, during, or after each use because the blade is already housed at the proper 17-degree angle.
Our cutlery has been put through rigorous testing to ensure that it can withstand even the most demanding dishwasher cycles. Hand washing is recommended if you want your appearance to last as long as possible.
Our handles are ergonomically designed with a full tang and bolster for maximum comfort and control. The polished triple steel rivets add a touch of elegance to each handle while reinforcing and strengthening the seamless fit.
This painted silver wood block proudly bears the KitchenAid name and sits at the ideal angle for easy installation under kitchen cabinets. Sharpening is simple and quick thanks to the built-in sharpener. The elegant design of the block will complement any kitchen.

Questions & Answers

I don't see a 14-piece set anywhere in the picture?

14-Piece Stainless Steel Cutlery Set from Kitchen Aid includes: 2 Chef Knives, br>Slicing Knife, br>Sharpening Steel, br>Serrated Utility Knife, br>Paring Knife, br>Santoku Paring Knife, br>6 Steak Knivesbr>bamboo stand.br>Ready to ship Thank you very much. br>br>

What country did it come from, and where did it get its start?

Although the country of origin was not stamped on the blade, I am almost certain they were made in China. They're made of German steel, according to the label. Unfortunately, after only a few uses, my set is rusting. They, too, have received excellent care. Except for perhaps a set purchased in Germany, I bought a cheap knife set at random when I first got married and it turned out to be better than any other I've owned.

Is it safe to put these knives in a dishwasher? Do they rust like my other stainless steel knives, which rusted almost immediately?

I've been washing mine in the dishwasher after each use, and there have been no spots or rusting so far. It's been about five months since I got them. So far, everything has gone well!

Is there a difference between serrated and straight steak knives?

KKFTR16SL 16 Piece Classic Forged Series Triple Rivet Cutlery Set, Silver by KitchenAid
5/5

I don't usually write reviews, but I was so taken with this knife set that I felt compelled to share my thoughts. I had no knowledge of knives when I first married many years ago. The orange drink was the only Tang I had ever heard of. For many years, I was content with a cheap knife set that came with a wooden block. Then, as my passion for cooking grew, I wanted to invest in something nice, which for me meant purchasing high-end, full-tang German knives. (Not the Twins, mind you, but a similar-sounding brand. ) ) They were a huge letdown, not even close to the quality of my original made-in-China set. After that, I tried my luck with a luxury French-style hotel. Knives that rust if you look at them the wrong way Maybe they can tell your eyes are moist? My husband and I were both frustrated by the lack of a good knife set. I took a chance on these because I adore my KitchenAid mixer. They claimed to be dishwasher safe, so I gave them a try, even though I prefer hand washing, and they turned out beautifully, with the exception of one steak knife that rusted. The rust stains were nearly enough to earn the set a four-star rating, but I was able to easily remove them. (Do you hear me, French knife manufacturer?) ) I don't think the steak knives are up to par with the rest of the set, so I'll probably replace them with a set of six Henkel Twins in the future. However, they aren't bad. It's also worth noting that the set I received differed slightly from the one shown. I was concerned that the block would scratch, but it hasn't; it is beautiful and matches our granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. It came with a great little knife that is the most versatile of all and my favorite. I was determined to stick to my budget ($80 is a lot to me) and purchase a good set of knives for everyday use. I was blown away by how well they turned out. I'm a very satisfied client.

It's more like a 14-piece knife set that has been used
3/5

This knife set was purchased as a gift for a friend's bridal shower. I didn't think to check the quality by opening it. I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT. br>When she gets home and opens the gift, she notices that two knives are missing. She pulls out one of the larger knives, which has clearly seen action. I later discovered that not only had it been used, but it was also not a KitchenAid knife, as I pulled out another knife (an actual KitchenAid knife) that had fingerprints and gunk all over it. YUCK. br>I will say that I placed an order for a replacement and it arrived promptly. It also includes all of the necessary components. They're fresh off the press. br>I'm completely humiliated. aggravated It's completely absurd. Two thumbs down on this one.

These knives are excellent value for money
5/5

These are fantastic knives. In the bamboo block, I found a 14-piece forged brushed stainless knife set. Twelve of the fourteen pieces are fantastic, one is awkward, and one is just odd. Let me explain: br>The bamboo block, as well as the built-in sharpener, are both attractive and sturdy. It's a nice touch, but it's unnecessary; however, form follows function, and they look good on display. The chef's knife is incredible. The forged blade has a nice balance and weight to it, and it easily slices through anything and everything, leaving you wanting more. br>The bread knife has a personality. I believe my phrasing was the reason it was flagged the last time I reviewed it. Let's just say you'll be able to make some delicious slices with it. br>The blade of the paring knife is quite long. I expected it to be awkward, but it's actually a lot of fun and does an excellent job peeling things. br>There's also the santoku, which is made of high-quality steel and yearns for a 2" NY Stripbr> It is a big hit with my wife. It offends me greatly. The handle is about 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Have you ever stepped inside a 3/4-scale room? It's quite a strange feeling. Perhaps you aren't aware of this. Imagine going to play tennis, but instead of a racket, you pull out a table tennis paddle from your bag. That's how I'm feeling about this santoku. Inappropriately small in the hand, making it difficult to use without slamming your knuckles against the cutting board. br>It's actually a good thing I had to edit it because I used to think the utility knife was garbage, but now I really like it. It's oddly shaped and serrated, but I find it to be comfortable and effective at cutting odds and ends. I've used this knife to cut up fruits, debone steaks, and slice hams. br>br>But, aside from the Santoku (which my wife and 13-year-old daughter both like), the other 13 items are a joy to use, and I would highly recommend this knife set.

In this price range, it was about what I expected
4/5

Despite the fact that the photo shows them as being non-serrated, steak knives are serrated. serrated. It's a letdown. The smooth steak knives were one of the factors that influenced my decision to purchase this set. However, it isn't a significant enough issue to warrant returning them. Aside from that, the image quality appears to be satisfactory. There are no major issues to be found. They aren't razor-sharp, and they won't shave my arm, but they cut slightly squishy tomatoes well right out of the box with no touch-ups. Scissors have a better feel to them than I anticipated. Overall, the package meets my expectations for a $100 knife set. If anything important comes up, I'll update this review later.
