Can they be made of stainless steel? Is the metal rusting or corroding?

It's hard to believe that I love scissors so much. Although I do not believe they are stainless steel ( I do not think they are). Although they have not rusted and I use them almost every day, they are in good condition. There are very sharp edges to them.

A story from a trip to China in 2099 involved the purchase of really high quality Chinese scissors and finding a replacement for the very fine bladed food scissors found by my wife on a trip on a medical fellowship in 1984 that are now worn out. You can use those shears to go to the garden with, they're so nice to have in the kitchen. I would appreciate an inch more length on the cutting portion of the shears. The handles are extremely comfortable and rubbery on the inside and hard plastic on the outside. The cutting portion is extremely sharp but I wish they were I would buy them again, although they are a little pricey. Thank you for your time
