It is a very useful addition to the Lansky sharpening system
5/5

I recently purchased a Lansky diamond hone to add to my diamond hones collection. When it comes to sharpening certain steels, I sometimes prefer using stones over Diamonds.

A slant was applied to the gluing of the stone into the holder. The Lansky sharpening system cannot be used with the rods that come with it.

I love it!. This phone was something I had been waiting for years to get. As much as I tried standard and diamond hones in the past, I ultimately wanted the natural Arkansas stone's sharpening ability and precision. My primary method for sharpening knives were the Arkansas bench stones (which I made with water). It took me a long time to get to the point I could do it right, and it was time consuming. The state of Arkansas is really good (better than the state of man) The sharpening properties of this material led to its use as an abrasive. Having the ability to both sharpen and polish an edge simultaneously means less work in getting a very sharp blade at the end of it. Taking the time to sharpen a knife with a file isn't the fastest method, but it's definitely It looks like the other hones for use with the Sharpening System, so it fits right in there. The abrasive on the bottom is attached to a plastic finger holder that has a guide rod mount on the back. It's really not that difficult. Natural hard white Arkansas stone of fine grain is used for this one. The Lansky specification claims it to be equivalent to 650 grit, and from my experiences I can verify what he is saying. The Arkansas stone is one step down from the finest Arkansas, which is the hard black stone with around 1000 grit used for polishing. I find that using the stone is no different from using the other, except that it takes longer to obtain a sharp edge, but you receive, in my opinion, a better edge than the standard man-made one A fine hone was made. It is necessary to use oil for Since the grinding surface is inverted, water would be a better alternative, but it makes it more difficult. As a result, the stone absorbs oil over time, so it must be kept clean by wiping it off and reapplying When in use, you will find yourself frequently oiling. One thing I did notice though I had a problem with it. It seems like there's a low spot on the surface of the stone because the stone cracked in the middle. Though I'm not sure how this impacts functionality, it's still rather disheartening to find that it is fundamentally impossible to work with. It is not possible for the stone to ever detach from the holder, as it would inevitably fall into two pieces. I get the best of both worlds with this, aside from that Lansky's system offers the excellence of natural Novaculite stone, and the ease of use of a natural Novaculite stone.
