Questions & Answers
The package contains two pieces. Each one measures 13" x 1 3/4" and has magnet strips on the top and bottom.
Okay, I believe there are two powerful magnetic strips imbedded in the plastic casing, which should be sufficient, but magnets will not hold stainless steel.
Plastic is used throughout the item.
I believe they are between 11 and 12 years old. 12" in length with a 1/12" in height. Almost as long as a ruler height.

Large Bowie knives will be held in place by extremely strong magnets! I've used a lot of magnetic knife bars, and these are the best.
My pickup camper was a perfect fit. br>Holds knives in his hands as he travels over bumps. br>Because of the RV's hollow 1/4-inch walls, I had to use a different mounting mollie, which you can see in the last photo.
We purchased these to hold some new knives we purchased on Amazon and are very happy with them. They come with hardware to mount them to a wall, but we didn't have the space, so we used command strips to attach them to the fridge. These really hold our kitchen knives in place, and you'd think that because they're so strong, you'd bend the blades pulling them off. These are versatile enough to be used in a variety of settings. I'm considering purchasing a pair to keep some tools in my garage.
They are secured to the wall with a screw on each side and an anchor that keeps them in place. This is an important feature (that not all strips have), because when I remove a knife, I can feel the strip's extremely strong magnet pulling away from the wall in order to stay with the knife I'm removing. (As one might expect from magnetic force. ).
I haven't installed this product yet and am considering returning it. The actual package is on strip with two magnetic bars, despite the fact that it is advertised as a two pack. I didn't get what I expected to get.
Believe me when I say that these magnets are extremely powerful, to the point where they have pulled the plastic mounting block OUT! The magnetic strip was also pulled out with one good pull of a knife! br>The magnetic strips had to be removed from the backing blocks completely. We discovered there was only a smidgeon of adhesive dripped in the track to keep the magnet in place, which was clearly insufficient glue! br>We have re-evaluated our situation. I used the RIGHT amount of Gorilla Glue to glue the entire strip's length together, and it worked! br>br>Also, the flimsy drywall anchors that came with the knife block were not to our liking. We used some heavier duty ones (picture included) and they did an excellent job of anchoring the block to the wall. We also painted the heads black to match the mounting block because the screws provided were simple drywall screws with a bluish color to them. br>(We shouldn't have had to re-invent the wheel. ) If yours does the same thing, you've been forewarned! Glue the magnetic strips or modify the drywall anchors. )br>br>Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha So, once we've re-evaluated our situation, we'll see what we can do. These are AWESOME, glue job set! However, there is a technique to removing the knives, and if you are impatient, you may cut yourself on your knives while doing so. You must twist them as you pull them off, and the knife will gladly come off. On the other hand, if you can't figure out how to do it properly, you're probably just using cheap knives. On my strip, I have five super sharp EXPENSIVE Chef knives, which look stunning on this Wunderkind of a rack. I really like the graphite design, in fact, I really like everything about it!.
I used double-sided tape to secure these items. The plastic frame prevents the tape from making full contact with the holder and the wall because the back side of the strip is not a solid, flat backing. If you want to use double sided tape for mounting, look for one with a solid back so it makes the most contact with the wall and rack.
Strong magnets hold even the largest knives with their handles pointing downward, making it an excellent wall mount.
