I love the quality of this product. I was a little concerned when I read reviews about how steak knives would not fit. As you can see, however, my steak knives are perfectly suited to my hands. The steak knives do not have the ridges typical of Wusthof. The last time I cleaned this was before the holiday season. In any event, I would think that a can of keyboard airspray would be sufficient to clean out the knife slots.

Neither of our gigantic cutco knives (MLM knives, I know) fit in this block as well as they did. Additionally, there are a number of knives of other brands that will fit well in the block. I admire the look of the block and the fact that there's a sharpener on it. It was a really good value in the end.
