I bought this from Amazon (with my own money) for our overland rig kitchen, and I'm very pleased with the quality of the items. The knives are sharp, the guards on them are great, and the board and towel are also exceptional. Fortunately all of it folds up neatly into a case that fits in my tub. I don't know if I would take it backpacking (its bulky and heavy), but for car camping and overlanding it works well. I've always found GSI's stuff to be satisfactory, and this one is no exception.

I love this knife set, it's a good deal. At the place where I worked, the knives were all dull at the time, so the main straight edge Santoku became my go-to knife. Even after trimming and cutting several beef and pork tenderloin, the tool is still sharp.
In addition to food stuff, I use it for many other things as well. Because I don't like knives laying around I really appreciate that it comes in a container so that they won't get dirty or dull. That's a definite recommendation from me.

This was a little treat for my husband, who is a foodie even when we camp! I enjoy doing regular food prep with the knife because it is sharp, and the kit is compact and perfect. Our main purpose is to use it while we are car camping, which means we never use the cutting board, but we appreciate the fact that it is available should we want a lighter/smaller.
