I spent a lot of time watching YouTube cooking videos before I decided to invest in a stove top griddle. In fact, I was right. This 18 inch griddle was the one that I found to work best. Some others exist that would be fantastic, but given that they would be used on glass top stoves, I had to consider the fact that they would be used on one. Cast iron is almost never suitable for a flat bottom as it cannot hold a lot of weight. This led to the creation of
The main pros of this griddle are as follows On this thing you can put eggs, sausage, burgers, and vegetables all at the same time! The use of avocado oil is a recommendation. The griddle stays stable up to about 500 degrees and has a good fat profile. (Avoid soybean, canola oil, etc. ). The only con (which I imagine is typical of all griddles) is it smokes up the room after.
Furthermore, it arrived with parts of the finish chipped, handles broken off, and the edges bent. This product is of poor quality and the finish is disappointing. In the near future, I will be looking for an alternative.
It is true that the griddle is bent and warped right out of the box, according to other reviews. Even though it may be usable, liquids are more likely to run off a hot griddle and onto the surface below if used as a griddle. As soon as we opened the package, we saw that it seemed as if it had been through the Even so, I am fairly certain that the damage to this griddle did not occur during transit, but rather as a result of how it was made. * I was very disappointed in this Lodge brand Originally, I was planning to purchase more carbon steel cookware from Lodge, but I will have to seriously reconsider because of the quality of this grill. BREAKING UPDATE In response to my return of the toothbrush, I was sent a replacement. A better replacement was provided, but it was still a bit warped and bowed in the middle. While I have increased the rating from two stars to three stars, I still cannot believe that I got fifty dollars worth of value for this product.
Cookware that is nonstick isn't used here (because it is toxic). Most of the time we cook in a cast iron skillet but there are times when it is not enough I have been using it daily for four months and am not experiencing any problems. A space measurement was made and compared to other items available In addition to the raised handles, I like the reputation of the company. The product was exactly what I expected.
With my grill, I had uneven heat distribution, but my new griddle allowed me to cook with an even, very hot I'm in love with.
What I expected for carbon steel was totally different. My other carbon steel products are thinner and smoother than this. Although it is heavy duty and sturdy, I was hoping for a thinner and smoother grill pan. Despite its light weight, this is a lot heavier than I expected. It is not as heavy as my other cast iron grills.
I urge you to take action. The results (on a gas stove) are incredible. The stove is gas, and I use it every day The thing I love the most! The flat hot surface is amazing to work on. I can brown veggies on it, potatoes don't stick, it's so nice to have constant hot surfaces. As long as I don't need the burners, I will keep this on my stove 24/7. Although I do not think that it would work well on my electric glass top.
It would be difficult for cast iron griddles to make contact with an induction surface because they have an uneven bottom. Although I assumed that this flat screen would work, I was hesitant to purchase it because it does not claim to be induction compatible, and the reviews were not all that stellar. Despite how bad the reviews were, I finally decided it was worth a shot, and I'm so glad I did! Over the last couple of years, I've used this pan a lot. Our family has been using it nearly every day for the last 2 months since we purchased I had added a good bit of extra oil to make it good and seasoned for the first several uses, but now it's perfectly seasoned! At this point, you should stick with it. I love the fact that it's so easy to keep In most cases, I don't wash it, but scrape it clean with a rag and wipe it with it. haven't had any issues with warping like some other reviewers, but I also don't typically need to heat it as high as some reviewers did. That might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure. A potential complaint would be that the cooking surface does not heat evenly throughout, but in my experience that just brings with it the nature of cooking with a griddle in general, not a problem with this specific griddle in particular. There have been a few reviews that flaunt uneven heat, but in my opinion, the hottest areas will always be the areas over the actual heating elements (whether that is an induction, electric, or flame) and the rest will be less As long as you keep this in mind while cooking, you should not have a problem. I could not be happier with my purchase. You can use an electric.
