It is not possible to place the top plate where the bottom one is. It is not possible for them to switch places. The waffle plates need to be changed out when you use them. When you are using the muffin pan or deep baking pan, that's when you would need to replace the bottom. This should be helpful to you.

So, I decided to give them a try even though some people said they wouldn't work. By taking a risk, I decided to do what I had always wanted to do. So I can safely say that YES, they are indeed a good fit and YES, I believe the lid works properly as well. If I remember, I'll update this later on how easy it is to clean them. Taking a risk on that seemed to be a risky move, but I decided to keep going for it. In addition, if you don't clean the original plates immediately, it can be very hard to clean them. As I do with all the other grill plates, I plan to clean these immediately without letting any bits cool or get stuck. When you remove food residue prior to cleaning, it is always easier to do so. Editor's note After using the grill plates for a few weeks, I have to say that they are far easier to clean than the original nonstick plates that came with it. The only thing I did was wipe them off with paper towels, and they cleaned up easily. The surface did not need to be scrubbed or burned. Just received the GFX 84P ceramic grilling plates, and they fitted perfectly in my Grp90wgr. As far as I can tell, they only fit the "Evolve" line of grills. There is a problem with this.
Over the years, I have gone through quite a few GF Grills and always enjoy I was not a fan of the change from a nonstick surface to a ceramic one when they switched the grill plates. The dishes don't clean up as easily as they should, so I'm still not a fan. Nevertheless, I believe that it was an excellent idea to purchase replacement grill plates instead of a completely new grill since my grill was still functional. I will never be a big fan of the ceramic coating.
In the original versions, the plates were tricky to clean and food would constantly stick to them As a result, the food became stuck to the top of my grill and I had to carefully lift the lid so that I could pull it off. It was a nightmare to clean because it would take so much scrubbing and even steel wool (which is not supposed to be used). These are the second time I have bought them, and I don't like the way they stain and burn easily. There is always a stain on the top grill plate and none on the bottom. No stain has been removed from my shirt. There is one thing I do like about it it does cook food well, but I wish it were actually non-stick Stick to it.
