I have used it multiple times and I have never had any issue getting the perfect musubi every time. It is slightly bigger than a piece of spam (like barely larger) but I have never seen anything like it. If you want to do this by hand or even just by using the spam can, you could do it, but for the price, why not just order I think the only inconvenience is that it's difficult to store, but there is always an easier way to do.
