I'm not sure what I'm saying. It's a white flexible gasket that's only meant to be used once when canning. I keep dry goods in it and haven't replaced any of my old jars. On Amazon, there is a listing for OEM replacement gaskets, and the replacements are marked as PBPA-free.
Do I get a prize if I guess correctly? I don't eat candy, so I can't say.
I've never given it a shot. I'm not sure how long the seal would last if it was frozen and thawed several times.

Okay, for what I'm using them for, they're perfect. Tepache is being created. It's important to note that they don't hold any pressure. It's ideal for fermenting because it only slightly leaks, allowing pressure to escape. This is not the case if you want it to be completely sealed. It would most likely be sufficient for regular dry storage.
The jars themselves are fine, but the seals are a disaster. There's no way to tell if it's airtight or not.
The jars appear to be a good deal, but one of them came with a cracked lid, and without a printer, there's no way to return it during America's lockdown. The jar is mostly functional, but it isn't completely airtight. It's extremely aggravating to receive a defective item.
These jars are fantastic for storing things in. Pickles and sauerkraut are two of my favorite things to make with them. The neck is wide enough for me to get my hands inside to pack the jar, and the sturdy gasket seals the jar tightly without leaking. They fit on the top shelf of the refrigerator as well, as they are slightly shorter than a wine bottle. Quick delivery, no chips or cracks, and well-wrapped in bubble wrap.
One of my jars seems to be leaking a little. After gently shaking it, I got a small amount of juice on my hand from inside the jar. Yes, I cleaned both the seal and the glass rim before trying to close them. The other jar I tried seemed to seal fine, and when opening the jars, you don't have to do what it says and release the seal; simply open the top. There is no suction or anything, so I'm not sure why they recommend opening them this way. br>br>Everything arrived in excellent condition; there was no broken glass. There was a lot of bubble wrap, as well as some cardboard dividers. The labels and pen that came with it did a fantastic job. I had no trouble adhering the label to the jar's top. The seals are separate from the glass jars, and you must put them together. The metal clasp is already attached, but it can be taken off to clean the jars. br>br>In terms of size, I was able to fit 6 Meyer lemons and the juice they contained in here. I was smashing them in because I was making preserved lemons, so that was the maximum that would fit. I was also able to squeeze about 6 medium limes (not key limes) into one of the jars, resulting in preserved limes once more. br>br>Even though one of the jars is slightly leaky, these are very nice jars after only testing two of them. If the other two work and seal properly, this will keep its four-star rating. However, I wish I had received the four working jars that I had paid for.
I started with this size and then switched to the 4 liter size on Amazon a week later. These came with labels and a chalkboard marker, but the others didn't have the labels or markers that were advertised as being included. The gaskets in the larger 4 liter size are hard and don't feel like the genuine Fido jar gaskets I've been using for years. These, on the other hand, are the real deal, and I strongly suggest them. I'm going to place another order.
When buying more than a couple, these are a bit pricey, but they're well worth it. The glass is sturdy, and the airtight lid is a bonus. Whatever you put in it, whether it's chocolate chips or flour, it stays put. They weren't wobbly, the lids were in good shape, and they all arrived in good condition. What you pay for is what you get, and these are well worth the money. Larger sizes are best for flour, oats, and other coarse grains; smaller sizes are best for couscous and powdered sugar. crumbs, and so on.
I bought these to use in fermenting my own food. They're perfect for this because they keep the air out while allowing gasses to escape (the gasses inside are under pressure). I like the design's aesthetics, and they're thick and sturdy. They were delivered in excellent condition. packaged. I have a beverage pitcher from this manufacturer that I hit with my car by accident. Apart from the asphalt scratching a corner of it, it was in perfect condition, and the jars are simple to clean. My only piece of advice is to be cautious about putting the gaskets in the dishwasher because they may be thrown up by the water and end up on the heating element, causing damage. Their pitcher works well for fermenting liquids like ginger beer and tepache, as well. This company produces high-quality goods.
