As I had been using a Mr. Coffee for years, I thought I would upgrade when it had to be replaced. I think this coffee tastes better than the previous one. As far as permanent filters are concerned, I'll say that they're pointless. To use a paper filter, you still need to buy it. I've seen this machine make a mess so many times. As the grinds bubble up, they become clear. Once you remove the carafe from the coffee pot, you put the coffee on the burner and then realize that it's still dripping. As soon as I can, I'll be getting rid of it and returning to the cheaper more reliable option.

During our contact with the manufacturer, we found out more about the product. A bad electrical odor emanated from the toaster, which made me feel unwell.
