There is no relation between the size of your coffee grounds and the amount of time you hold the button down. It's not set up a specific way. You would just need to use your judgement in this case. The longer you grind, the finer the grind, and the shorter you grind, the coarser the grind.

Although I have not tried it, I know it will soften dog food if you soak it in water first. It is possible that dry god food would crush if it is not really dense and not too much is put in at once.

The last one I had died after 11 years of daily use, and I had difficulty finding a replacement - As always, Amazon keeps on delivering! The pros are You can grind all 12 discs at once with this machine The entire cup pot can be filled in one fill, as fine as you like, and the cup itself is deep so there is no spillage throughout the table. My joints get tough after having my grinders all gunked up, which can be a problem when I have arthritis. Three taps and we're done I could do it in 4 seconds and it would work perfectly for my js.
