Questions & Answers

Can this be used to turn off the solenoid in a CO2 setup if the pH falls below 6? For instance, what about number 5? Only says you can use it to turn something on in the description?

It only activates something when you reach a certain trigger point, which can be either high or low. Only one of them, high or low, can be programmed. So you could program the solenoid to turn on at 6 a.m. with the trigger. It would be on for as long as the PH was above 6, and it would remain on. 5. When your PH falls below the trigger point, which is currently 6. It'd turn off at number five.

What else is needed to adjust the ph of a hydroponic reservoir? Is it just a peristaltic pump that needs to be plugged in?

Yes, I believe that is all you require; the pump will then operate until the required ph is reached; it is that simple to construct an intelligent system; good luck!

To be clear, this device can't change the pH of my solution right out of the box, right? In order to accomplish this, I should instead obtain http: //amzn. yes? com/B00SBZVWZI ?

This device serves as a controller. As a result, if your pH is too low or high, it can turn on or off a device of your choice. You are the one who sets the boundaries. So it's entirely up to you how you manage your pH. The Co2 injection lowers the ph, which is why most people use them as a calcium reactor. Using that doser to dose some type of chemical, such as kalk wasser, would also work. It all depends on what you're trying to achieve. However, the controller only knows how to turn things on and off, as well as what to do based on the ph probe reading.

Is it possible for me to just get the probe? When should you replace the probe?

The replacement probe can be found by searching for B0009YJ22O on Amazon, or any BNC pH probe can be used on those. The probes should be calibrated every few months, but they usually last 12 months. Standard, which this one is, lasts 18 months, while lab grade lasts a little longer. When the probe's calibration can no longer be maintained, it's time to replace it.

Some optional solutions are missing, but it's been working well so far
4/5

Only one set of calibration packages is included (as shown in the photo in the advertisement), but there is no Electrode Rinsing Solution or Electrode Storage Solution. These are optional, so budget a little more for the solutions you'll need for calibration, first use, storage, or DIY. I used this controller in conjunction with a Milwaukee MP 810 dosing pump that I purchased separately. Purchase the unit as a whole for around $2. I calibrated the electrode, which worked perfectly right out of the box, and put it to the test. 60 cc per minute is delivered by the pump. In the reservoir of my 45 gallon hydroponic garden, I placed the pH probe and PH solution delivery tube from the pump. I diluted the pH DOWN solution in 1/4 cup of water per gallon of water, then inserted the intake tube and filter (float?). ) in the diluted pH down solution supplied with the pump Set the controller to a pH of around 5 on the dial. 9, and switch the toggle to the bottom position. When the controller is set up in this way, the pump will deliver acid to the reservoir, keeping the pH below 5. Because the pH was above 6, the pump activated and pumped a few ounces of acid solution into the reservoir before shutting down. When the unit is turned on, it will monitor pH and deliver enough acid solution to prevent pH from rising as plants deplete acid nutrients. What a relief it is! There will be no more time-consuming pH checks and calculated acid additions to maintain pH in the desired growth range of 5. I'm growing heirloom tomatoes indoors and have a score of nine.

It's a cinch to use
5/5

This is fantastic for controlling my CO2 injection in my 120g planted tank. It was simple to calibrate and install, and after one week of use, it is still providing accurate readings. This item provides accurate information. This alone is worth it to me because it eliminates time readings and pH testing. I've got a timer plugged into the outlet that the unit is in charge of. Buying a timer with this, in my opinion, is a must, as it allows me to leave the product on 24 hours a day while the timer controls the CO2 flow. I can keep a constant eye on the pH and use CO2 injection to assess pH swings. The pH level is currently at 6. It is 8 a. m. when the CO2 is turned on, and it drops to 6 a. m. when the CO2 is turned off. By the time I turn on the CO2, I'll be at number six. It's a cinch to use.

However, I am pleased to report that it functions perfectly
5/5

I was a little hesitant to order this after reading some of the reviews, but I'm pleased to report that it works perfectly. br>I tested the probe against a reliable PH test kit after calibrating it with the supplied fluids, and it passed with flying colors. With great success, I use it in conjunction with the Milwaukee CO2 regulator. br>br>Because I didn't buy the regulator from Amazon, I'll have to give it a rating here. Many people have negative things to say about the Milwaukee CO2 regulator, but if you give it some time to break in (I let mine bleed into the air for 3 days before using it), the pressure settles in nicely and the flow rate can be fine-tuned with the valve rather than the regulator. It's currently running a 90 gallon planted tank with great success.

Is it a faulty unit? I've had no problems with Milwaukee pH controllers over the years
4/5

This item arrived today, and I am unable to calibrate it. When trying to calibrate the unit with Milwaukee's calibration fluids (7. ), the readings are constantly jumping all over the place. 0 & 0). After that, the readings drop to zero. 0 or 14. The unit arrived in perfect condition, with no visible signs of wear or tear. The probe was not completely dry because it was encased in a solution. The unit had been sitting in my mail box at 90 degrees for the entire day. When I took it out, it was extremely hot. br>br> I've sent an email to the Milwaukee customer service team - We'll wait to hear from them. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Everything appears to be in order. Milwaukee swapped out the faulty unit for a functional one. It's working beautifully!.

Working with Milwaukee instruments is one of my favorite things to do
5/5

I enjoy working with Milwaukee instruments, and I recently replaced a SMS122 controller with an MCH122. After determining that my SMS122 had gone dead due to the transformer, I called Milwaukee and asked where I could get a replacement power pack. They took the information and sent me a free SMS122 transformer, as well as paying for shipping, based solely on my word, and it arrived two days after speaking with the Milwaukee rep.

Not even close to being accurate
3/5

My shrimplets were all killed. To cut a long story short, it was successfully calibrated, but the probe reading for my shrimp tank was completely incorrect. It was displaying a value of 0. The PH is 61% lower than it should be. Then I started using PH raising solutions all the time, which turned my crystal shrimp tank into an alkaline tank, which was extremely harmful to them. I found out too late, and I lost hundreds of dollars worth of shrimps and countless shrimplets. Both the API PH tester and the Apera PH60 (which I highly recommend) confirmed that the readings were incorrect.

So far, everything has gone well
5/5

I've had it for about 6 months and it's still going strong. So far, everything has gone well. I've had it for about 6 months now and it's great. Oh, and just so you know, you only need one. If you try to use two, one for up and one for down, you'll end up with a mess. They are going to fight. It has the ability to go both up and down the stairs. If you have large PH swings, it's possible you're deficient in calcium. mag to serve as a shock absorber. br>It's a little pricey, but the peace of mind it provides is priceless.

Get Your Own Reference Solutions and a Good Aquarium CO2 Shut Off
4/5

This is a good product in general; I use it to monitor the PH in my aquarium and have it turn off my CO2 if it drops too low. It does what it's supposed to do, but I was fortunate in that I double-checked the PH readings. The 7PH solution in my box must have been expired or something because it was completely off, too acidic. To calibrate this device, you'll need your own 4 and 7 PH reference solutions, which you can find on Amazon.
