Otis Classic Swing Lid Glass Bottles with Lids Flip Stoppers for Second Fermentation Kombucha Water Kefir Brewing Beer Set of 6 16 oz Amber

I haven't used these bottles yet, but I intend to use them to make water kefir, and I wanted a swing top like this for the second fermentation. They appear to be high-quality bottles, and I appreciate that replacement seals are included. What I don't like is that one of the six bottles was broken in half when it arrived. The shipping box appears to be in good condition, but I suppose a direct hit on the corner (where this bottle was found) would be enough to break it. I'm annoyed because I wanted to get started right away, so I won't be returning the entire box to replace one broken bottle. Instead, I've decided to buy five bottles for the price of six. I wish I had purchased several more cases of these, but I'm hesitant to do so if more come in 5-packs. Hopefully, they'll be fantastic to use and compensate for the higher per-bottle price.

These bottles are as described and generally good, but one of mine was broken when it arrived. I'm frustrated because I can't seem to get a replacement for the one bottle that broke without returning all five of the others, which are in perfect condition. For me, the inconvenience of having to send back (and thus not be able to use) five good bottles because one of them arrived broken is not worth it, but on the other hand, having paid for six bottles and only having five intact ones is vexing. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I was refunded 100 50% of my purchase after leaving my initial review (above) and 2 stars. I wish I could give these bottles five stars, but they were promised to arrive by Friday, December 22 (Prime eligible, and I am a Prime member), but they did not arrive until Tuesday evening, December 26. I planned to give them away as homemade Kahula gifts for Christmas.
: (Having said that, I was impressed by the packaging. ) With the help of a cardboard divider, the box was divided into six sections, and the bottles were individually wrapped in bubble wrap. The fact that the caps were already assembled and attached to the bottles was also a huge plus for me. All of the bottles arrived undamaged and in excellent condition. It's only a matter of washing them now.

The first time I ordered these bottles, I did so by accident. I had a few comparisons in my cart and was planning to buy some that were much cheaper per bottle but about the same price per unit. That was my frugal self, though, and I'm sure my deep subconscious knew I needed these. Instead of being disappointed when they showed up with only six instead of the twelve I had anticipated, I was ecstatic. I immediately bottled a gallon of booch and ordered another set because I was so pleased. All of the bottles I've ordered so far have arrived in perfect condition and have survived three moves intact, both full and empty; the shape is lovely, and there have been no leaks or other gasket issues; fizz is first! I'll definitely be ordering more as soon as my partner builds a rack for them.

I keep my homebrew Kombucha in these bottles. They've only been used once, and one of the red rubber caps is already broken. There's a reason they include extra rubber caps with these bottles. This is not a system that can be sustained.

I'm a first-time kombucha brewer who's starting to carbonate and bottle it in batches. I want and need the type of seal that these bottles have, but sealing and opening them is extremely difficult for me. My thumbs are arthritic and difficult to use, but I need this type to keep the kombucha from losing carbonation. They appear to be of good quality and were well packaged, so I'm very pleased.

I've got some old flip-flops in my closet. I wanted to use the top bottle for brewing, but I couldn't find ore anywhere, so I had to use dark plastic bottles instead. I'd grown to despise plastic bottles, so I was delighted to discover the Swing Top Grolsch bottles! I've purchased two batches so far, and they're all of the same quality. Particularly at the top of the neck, where there is a gap. Because the thickness of the glass and the diameter of the opening on my old bottles varied so much, I had to use different sizes of funnels and tubing every time. In addition, the metal components on my old flip-flop After repeated sanitizing, the tops quickly became tarnished. So far, none of the Grolsch bottles have tarnished. Overall, I'm happy with these bottles, and I plan to replace all of the plastic bottles and order extras now that I'm brewing multiple batches in a row. The Grolsch bottles are without a doubt recommended.

I've started making kombucha and ordered these bottles because they have flip lids and are dark in color. These were shipped with extreme caution by the seller and arrived in perfect condition. This was a major source of concern for me, and I will almost certainly place an order. They've done it before. They're ideal for brewing kombucha because they can easily be "burped" to relieve pressure that builds up during the fermentation process. This purchase has exceeded my expectations.
