It's now a hit-or-miss proposition
3/5

Over time, different brands of bottles and caps have appeared. br>br>The first set of bottles had orange seals, which were fine. There were no major issues, and no bottles were broken. This was around April of 2017br>After that, they turned red and got a lot better. This went on from November to February of this year. br>br>Now, in March of this year, they're red, but they're terrible. It's particularly aggravating because we ordered 60 caps at once this time, and they're all defective. I had to bend the wires on the caps myself to keep them from slipping off and the bottles from closing too tightly. At the same time, the dimensions of the wires are messed up, making it more difficult to close the flip tops. But it's worth it if you want fizzier drinks. br>br>I'm not sure I want to order these because the manufacturer will most likely change again. I'm looking for a consistent, dependable product, which I can't seem to find here.

Gaskets that aren't up to par should be avoided by homebrewers
3/5

Well, as another homebrewer has already stated - "Do not use for brewing at home!" These bottles are nice and sturdy, and they'd be ideal for any non-carbonated brew. The gaskets that came with them didn't hold a good seal for carbonation and I wasted 98% of my 5 gallon Ale brew . The wire latches appear to be of good quality and give the flop a satisfying pop, but I'm not sure if the tension is insufficient to create a good seal or if the carbonation seeps through the gasket. I'll try again with different gaskets that have a better track record of a good seal, and hopefully that will work out and I'll be able to keep using these bottles, which I otherwise enjoy. If that doesn't work, it'll be a huge waste of money and good brews, so I can't recommend these bottles with their original gaskets, hence the low rating due to its claim of being great for "fermentation" or home brews, which it isn't, at least not if you're making carbonated brews. I'll update once I've tested the upgraded gaskets to see if the tension will hold up a good seal with the other gaskets; if it does, all you'll need are the bottles and other gaskets. I'm keeping the rating, though, because new items aren't supposed to require replacement parts. br>br>NEW; br>br>UPDATE; br>br>NEW; b br>Since replacing the gaskets, I've had great success brewing two batches of lager and ale. So, after upgrading the gaskets, the bottles cap perfectly and create a proper seal. As long as those crappy gaskets come with the bottles, the rating will remain unchanged, but you should be fine if you try the bottles with rubber gaskets.

I suppose ten out of twelve isn't bad
3/5

When I first looked at the bottle, I noticed that one of the bails pops out when it's closed. I compressed it slightly in my bench vise, then used pliers to tweak the wire's tips to fit into the bottle's divots at an upward angle. When closed, it now stays put, but I'm not sure I can trust it to keep the carbonation. A particle of something is deeply embedded in the glass of another bottle. I'm not sure it'll withstand pressurization (during home-bottle conditioning). brewed beer) or withstand pasteurization (which I expect to do in the not-too-distant future). long-term archiving) Those bottles might have to be put to other uses. None of the others have any obvious flaws, such as stress cracks or overly sharp edges. There are a few tiny bubbles here and there, as well as streaking that reminds me of antique window glass. The bottoms of the bottles do not have any branding (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). There's nothing more to it than a numerical value. br>br>The caps are made of plastic (rather than ceramic), so they won't chip or shatter if dropped. They have a complete range of services. silicone seals with full coverage (to prevent leaks between the seal and the cap). The metal components appear to be as durable as those found on any other swing top bottle. They were individually wrapped in bubble wrap sleeves, which seemed excessive at the time, but none of them broke, so I guess it worked. For $2, I was expecting a higher-quality glass. They're not cheap at $75 per pint bottle (I can get the same bottles filled with beer for that), but they're not bad. br>br>Once I've used them, I'll update this review.

Three times I've ordered, and each time I've received everything in perfect working order
5/5

I was a little hesitant the first time I ordered because of reviews of broken bottles, but I've now ordered these bottles three times and received them in perfect condition each time. Each time, the packaging was a little different, but there were no broken bottles or glass flaws that I noticed. Ceramic stoppers were included in the first two orders, while plastic stoppers were included in the third. The beer hasn't changed in flavor. I'll order more as I gradually build up my supplies in order to make larger batches, and I'll definitely purchase these again. I'm very happy.

This is an outstanding product
5/5

It's fantastic! Heavy Duty, indeed! Caps that are tight and secure! No regrets; each bottle is in its own divided compartment, ensuring that the bottles do not come into contact and remain safe during shipment. I'll return to see what else you have to offer. )br>br>These bottles are used to make flavored Kombucha. The Kombucha becomes fizzy, and the caps do an excellent job of keeping the fizz contained in the bottle. The caps snap on snugly, and the bottles aren't at all fragile. They are my favorite.

It's long-lasting and cost-effective
5/5

For brewing purposes, I purchased two flats of these bottles. They're a good choice for the environment, and I've found that they work well for brewing batches of beer or kombucha. It was a small investment, and now I don't have to worry about spending money on a bottle capper or being wasteful by discarding metal caps. The stopper seal may need to be replaced at some point, but it is far less wasteful and biodegradable than caps.

Could there have been some flaws used? None of the bottles I received were broken, and they were all in good working condition
4/5

However, there are a number of flaws; not that this bothers me, but I just wanted to point it out. Two, they came with some kind of liquid inside because condensation formed on the inside, and one of the caps had a black mark on it that I rubbed off with my finger. Is it possible that this has been done before? That doesn't bother me too much because the seals appear to be in good health and appear to be living a happy life; if they survive more than four cycles, I'll consider them worthwhile.
