China is where it's made. To be honest, I think 99% of these small kitchen gadgets are made in China. There's no need to inquire, lol. However, I believe that their quality is improving, particularly in the last 5 years. 10 years. I really like this StarPack silicone basting brush because it's well-made. I hope this information is useful!
The bristles are soft, but not overly so, and the handle is hard. I have another brush with very soft and flimsy bristles; the bristles on this brush are better for brushing butter, marinades, and other sauces onto everything except bread dough.
This is a question I see on nearly every item. If you live in the United States, almost everything you use on a daily basis is imported. The United States is no longer a manufacturing powerhouse. Made in China does not imply that a product is good or bad, just as made in the United States does not imply that a product is good or bad. It wasn't made here if the price was reasonable. Get it out of your system.
It will be in stores in about a week. All of our silicone utensils will soon be available in Cherry Red, Gray-Green, and Blue-Green. Basting is something we need to discuss. The joys of basting! br>br>Oh, the joys of basting! Baste twice a day is something I do frequently. When there's no one else around, I'll even bast while they're gone. It's important to remember that basting is a natural process. At some point in their lives, everyone bastes, and I occasionally put on loud music and bast like my life depends on it. I also bast when I'm stressed out. Once upon a time, I was basted. We had a great time!br>br>This basting brush is durable and effective. I strongly advise you to use it for all of your basting needs. After a frenetic basting session, just throw it in the dishwasher and it'll be like new!.
This purchase was made to replace a similar silicone brush that had been misplaced during a recent move. I like the brush because it has a few features that I look for in a basting brush:
- The bristles, head, and handle are all one piece (there is no head insert, and the bristles will not pull out).
- The four- (I use this brush primarily for basting BBQ sauce onto meats. ) Layer bristles hold BBQ sauce well.
- With a little dish soap and warm water, cleaning is a breeze. br>The only drawback (and it's a minor one) is the length of the handle when I'm using it over an outdoor BBQ where the temperatures can be a little high for an unprotected hand. Recommended with a gloved hand. br>.
It's a teeny-tiny little thing. If you have large hands, you may find it difficult to use. The handle is quite short. I was expecting something a little nicer for something that took three weeks to arrive. It is, however, heat resistant up to 480 degrees Fahrenheit and dishwasher safe. Because the handle is steel underneath the silicone, you CANNOT put it in the microwave. It worked great for me when I tried it out the other day. It wasn't even that the handle was too short.
I was basting with an old-school bristle brush when I came across silicone on the internet one day. This silicone brush is truly incredible. I wish I had known about this silicone brush a long time ago. This is far more sanitary, and there are no bristles to lose. Is it possible that I've been living under a rock for the past few years?!.
Heat and stain resistance appears to be a feature. In the last two weeks, I've received this basting brush. I've used it a few times since then, and I'm happy with the results so far. Its bristles can hold a lot of sauce and distribute it evenly thanks to their design. I'm also happy to report that the bristles appear to be heat resistant. I used it to baste chicken in a hot cast iron skillet and it didn't melt, discolor, or burn like other brushes I've tried. This brush is also very easy to clean using only hot soapy water. It also appears to be stain resistant, as it did not discolor when used in a tomato-based sauce.
I used a basting brush that was a little longer than usual. This is what I found; it's quite small and has a short handle. Perhaps it was just my imagination, but it appeared to be much longer in the photo. Not at all what we required; we required something with a long handle so that we would not be burned while basting food on the grill. This wasn't the correct item for the job.
That was a lengthy sentence, to say the least. This is a fantastic tool! I bought two by accident and thought to myself, "Well, hopefully I like it. " I gave the other to my mother, and I'm sure she'll like it. I've been a chef for a long time and worked for a major appliance company for almost 8 years, where I promote products from companies I don't work for, and this will be added to my list during my cooking demonstrations. This is a fun, easy-to-transport, easy-to-clean, and simple-to-use product; I even used it on my brand-new cast iron pan and it didn't burn. Like so many others before it, it has a hot surface, and it is also reasonably priced.
I was debating whether or not to get an oil sprayer because they're so expensive, but since this basting brush is silicone, I figured I could lightly brush oil on the pan, griddle, or waffle maker that the recipe called for spraying oil on. Today, I put it to the test on my waffle maker, and it worked perfectly. The bristles on the brush are soft and easy to work with, and cleanup is a breeze.
