Considering it was made in the USA, one might assume it would be better made, but I didn't find that to be the case. Mine is wobbly and had to be glued, and I'm not sure that it'll help.
There is a possibility that this item might be contaminated with BPA.
Neither mine nor my dad's had any rust
It's not a good idea to clean them in the dishwasher, but I recommend getting the bristles wet and trying to shape them, then letting them dry. If a couple bristles aren't tame, you can

The model #60015 1 that I have been using is by Ateco. It is a 5" wide pastry brush I have been using for a couple of months now and I am very happy with the results. Buying this based on a recommendation from Cook's Illustrated's America's Test Kitchen was a good decision. When I brush butter on delicate doughs, for example, I use it only for light things. It is best used with filo dough, which is one of the most delicate doughs I have worked with. Its ability to grab and tear the bread is not an issue for me. Definitely one of the best brushes I have Besides the silicone brush, I also have the OXO Good Grips product line. It's great for brushing on butter or working with heavier sauces, but it is not great for delicate dough or brushing on delicate ingredients. I was inspired to get an Ateco pastry brush after learning about this. Both brush types can be used for different tasks, so I recommend possessing both types. It was exactly the same as the picture of the Ateco 60015 brush. Ateco 60015 is stamped on the handle. It is made in the United States and is natural bristle. There is a stainless steel stamp on the metal. It is not indicated what type of bristles were used on that brush. Both my pig bristle brush and my horse hair brush appear to have bristles similar to each other, but the bristles are There is a high quality to this brush, and I expect it to last me a long time.
One of the white bristles I just got is 1" long. They were just like those I used to use at my pizzeria to brush garlic butter on pizza. When I placed my order I was pretty confused after reading all the different reviews. I don't know if this will help, This product is made in the United States. Reviews for some of these items indicated a large amount of shedding. It seems some of these were made in China. We made this one in the USA and it sheds no hair. (They will lose bristles every now and then, this is normal if you use them frequently). In many reviews, it was clearly stated that this was raw wood, not finished. That matters little to me. I prefer more food-safe coatings, so I coat all my wood utensils with an oil/beeswax blend. The oils and waxes keep the wood conditioned without any The last point, pertaining to toxic chemicals, relates to the smell, which was said in some reviews. Having soaked it in hot water, I was curious to smell it. Remembering those reviews, I rinsed it with very hot water. There is a chemical smell when dry cleaning. What the heck. After washing it with dish soap, soaking it in vinegar and baking soda, I am still soaking it in a solution of vinegar and baking soda, which I will exchange for hot water until the odor is completely This is why I reduced the stars, but I hope to have a natural brush, so I will keep working on it, even if it never completely neutralizes. It's my fault I hate silicone brushes. They can only be used for This would be something you could pass on if it didn't matter too much to you. Trying to remove the smell from your old-school bristle brush may be worth your while if you want that look, but you shouldn't use it on food until it has disappeared.
Are they referring to natural and straight from the bottom of the donkey? I hate the smell of this thing! The odor is like the smell of those I had a little headache after reading it. Also, my hair falls out of the bristles like a fly away. There is no way I'm doing that. It's disappointing that I'm disappointed for 15 since you would expect much better quality. The item has been returned and I do not recommend buying it. Silica may not be recommended for baking, but some companies no longer focus on the quality of this material. Silicone is the way to go! will do its work without needing to be replaced and will last for a long time. Shop around here for an inexpensive one if you're looking to go the extra mile, or go to GIR if you want to go the extra mile. I got a pink one for $3 which is not GIR but does the.
In response to the recommendation of the PBS program "America's Test Kitchen", I bought this brush to use on phyllo during preparation of my Greek dishes. I give 5 stars to this product! Brushing melted butter over the delicate sheets of phyllo is my favorite use for this tool. My cut out cookies will be dusted with it as well when I have to dust flour off them.
This product works well and is soft enough to not damage a delicate embossed crust if you are gentle when applying it to pie crusts. I have used it a few times to apply egg wash to pie crusts. There was one black bristle that fell on a pie, but because the color is black, I was able to find and remove it easily. Everything seems to be going well so far.
The prices are fantastic, and the brushes are of excellent quality. For the Pastry, there is one, and for the Grill, there is another. Pastry brushes like this one are very well made. It has all the features you'd look for in a It makes all the difference in the world to have white bristles. The white bristles allow you not to worry about gentleness, to handle this brush gently. I find the smaller brushes take forever to use, and the small ones require you to use them on your hands. Having a bunch of things to cook all the time, I don't have the time to mess with delicate smearing, when a touch of butter needs to be washed over my fluffy buns. I recommend the Perfect White Bristle Brush for Pastry. I also gave up on the standard BBQ mops, brushes, etc. and I can already tell, that this brush will be perfect for that purpose too, so my search for a good brush is over, I will never look anywhere else, this is the one, I am extremely satisfied with White Bristle Brushes, they work better than any other brush I've tried, and I am delighted by Please also note that I ship fast!.
The reason I purchased this item was because the description said it had a lacquered wood handle (my current one is nut This is a recipe from Good Cook A raw wood handle can be found on it). Yet, it does not have a lacquer finish I got it because it is raw wood, just like my old one. There is no point and reason why I should have bought it anyway. In other words, it seems decent, except for a few bristles that popped out as I pulled it through my fingers. That happened with my old one, but I haven't noticed it occurring with this.
Despite the fact that it works just fine, I never feel clean after using it. The silicone one I have is definitely my favorite. It is easy to tell when the air is.
