The images of the pan make it hard to judge, but the edges of this pan are very straight, which makes me nervous that my pies will end up looking more like a torte I was expecting the rim to be longer based on the photo I saw on the product page. During the cooking process, the design on the inside of the pan is faded/imperfect, but that is to give it the appearance of an older product. Having said that, I can live with it. Last but not least, it was difficult to take the thing out of its The Styrofoam around it had to be broken apart to get it out, which was a messy process. I was blown away by the simplicity of the pattern on this pie dish along with its superb craftsmanship when I first opened the package. Ceramic cookware is my favourite type of cookware and I love stoneware on the stove. Christmas is a great time to give this elegant gift. If the dish were a little deeper, however, I would recommend it. It makes me think of the prairie days of long ago when you could pick fresh apples off the tree and bake in a stone oven with a fire burning.
