Questions & Answers
They are, in fact, four different pieces.
Personally, I wouldn't use it for baked cake unless the sides are etched to show the layer lines and the fact that it's dead white, as my naked cakes do.
I don't recall, but it was fairly light, and I'd assume the dimensional weight was taken into account when I received the final two.
Rounds with a diameter of 6, 8, 10, and 12 inches and a height of 4 inches are available.

I use these for display cakes, and they work well. However, they must be sanded down before being decorated, as the outside is very rough, and this will show through the fondant.
This is a fantastic offer! I've already used them four times and have had no issues with them or chips; they're very durable. I usually use a larger size at the bottom, but after using these, I've realized that I don't even need a larger size at the bottom because it just uses more fondant LOL, so I'm going to stick with these and they're cheap enough that if I need another set, I can just get one:.
For my wedding fake cake, this was the ideal solution. I was unsure of the true size, but it was ideal! Not too big, not too tall, just right.
These dummies do a fantastic job. Although I am not a professional baker, I have used dummy bottom tiers atop a real top tier on several occasions. Great for milestone parties/anniversaries where only a small amount of cake is required, as well as for faux multi-layer wedding cakes with a true anniversary tier to save.
This was exactly what I needed to get ready to decorate my first wedding cake. Because the tiers of the cake I'm making are 12", 9", and 6", I had to improvise by wrapping cardstock around the 8" foam to increase its diameter by an inch. I am extremely pleased with my purchase, and the price for four pieces is extremely reasonable. I'm thinking of making a candy cake with these.
While it will do the job, it isn't perfect; there were a few dents in the product, one of which I was unable to remove. Second, as I applied "frosting" to the dented areas, styrofoam rose to the surface and became entangled in the frosting. I worked through these issues, but having to devote additional time and attention to them was inconvenient.
It does the job and is simple to clean.
I only gave it three stars because I was unable to use the lower tier. It had a large dent on it when it arrived. I was able to make a dummy wedding cake out of the remaining tiers, which turned out quite nicely.
