I'm only familiar with two sizes of couplers as a former professional baker. Unless you need to switch tips with the same back of icing, you don't need to use more than one. You'll require both sizes if this is the case. I hope this information is useful.

I wasn't going to keep these because they were late and I thought I had overpaid for them. But when I saw how big they were, I knew I had to have them. The largest of the bunch is on the left, and the two largest tips I could get from Wilton are on the right. They're twice as big in this place! On any cupcake, they create a bakery-perfect swirl of frosting. Metal of excellent quality that is simple to clean. It came with a case to keep everything together as well as some pastry bags, which I have yet to use but will come in handy at some point. You won't find larger tips in stores, and these are a great price for the jumbo size; I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I used some of the tips from this set to make these succulent cupcakes. It worked perfectly, and I was able to obtain them faster and for less money than Wilton.
I'm so disappointed because until they arrived, I thought these were very expensive. They're a colossal amount of space! They came with adorable accessories and came in adorable packaging. I changed my mind and found them to be a good deal. Then I attempted to put them all together and discovered that three of the tips are too large for the small plastic couplers and too small for the large ones. They fit perfectly in one but not at all in the other. I'm a newbie, and I don't think I'd be brave enough to use them without the couplers. On the off chance that it was a fluke, I'm going back for another set. If the other set does not have the same problem, I will provide an update. I used the large circular tip to decorate cupcakes, and they turned out beautifully; I'm looking forward to trying out the other tips in the set. If you plan on frosting a large number of cupcakes at once, larger pasty bags are recommended. I just kept refilling mine, and I would strongly suggest this product.
The tips are exactly what I needed for topping cup cakes, but the bags are ridiculously small for these sizes. On 16 regular-sized cupcakes, I needed four bags. It was extremely inconvenient to switch the tip to a new bag every three or four cup cakes. I'm waiting for cookies from them. They're fantastic for tiny icing details.
I've only recently received this kit, so I can't comment on how well they'll hold up over time, but the quality of these tips appears to be good. I do notice a slight warping of one, which does not affect the tip but causes it to stack unevenly. When it was put into the small storage case, it might have been squeezed a little. Because stainless steel isn't indestructible, this leads me to believe that these should be handled with care. This is a fantastic kit that includes a variety of entertaining suggestions. I'm not sure what else you'd need unless you're a professional, which I am not. It came with two couplers, but I usually just throw the tip in the bag and forget about the coupler. I buy the roll of large disposable bags in the 15" size, which is perfect for me as a casual home baker, because it has quite a few disposable bags, though they are smaller than I prefer. Even so, it's nice that they include them in this set, which also includes a small spatula and a cleaning brush. With one exception, all of the tips are numbered. The only reason I didn't give it a five-star rating is that there are no instructions. A beginner would benefit from having some kind of instruction sheet to follow. However, there is no better way to stimulate creativity than to try new things, so have fun with it. I also did not receive the thank you note mentioned by so many reviewers. But (haha) that wouldn't make me change my opinion.
These are some very important recommendations. The packaging is adorable and practical for storing them. Also included were icing bags.
