There's a catch, though. Pull the cord down and to the right, just like you would with regular window blinds. They will reduce glare to a large extent, but not entirely. I hung them on my screen porch to keep the sun at bay. They suit my needs perfectly!
They can be used inside or outside, and I ordered four of them. Two of them are mounted on the inside, while the other two are mounted on the outside. I really like these blinds.
Ours is in the open air, but it is protected from the elements. In very rainy and/or very direct sunny conditions, I doubt it would last long.

These blinds have two types of mold on them after three months of hanging in the summer. Obviously, the blinds were used as intended, with the majority of the time being lowered to block the sun. They stayed rolled some of the time when it was cloudy or raining, but they are disgusting. These blinds have both black and blue powdery mold on them, as shown in the photos: The black stain on the wood slats is permanent. The blinds are made in China, and despite the fact that the company is Canadian (and has never responded directly to two separate inquiries), they are not prepared for outdoor use as they should be. Their return has been denied by the company. As you can see, we have plenty of room to lay them out and clean them, but the black mold is a slat defect that will never go away. These could possibly work well indoors.
A massive letdown. If you order these in a large size, you will be disappointed, and returning them will cost you $50. It's not beige on the inside. It's a khaki green color, similar to that of the army. It's for you if you like the look of an unkempt rustic 80s cabin or a shabby army shelter. I've made some of the most heinous and costly Amazon mistakes.

Because bamboo with a liner is difficult to come by. It was very simple to hang, and the color is lovely, not too dark but light enough to go with anything. It's on my patio porch, and it really does provide a darkening shade at night, which is exactly what I was looking for. The hardware is lovely and sturdy, and the cording is thicker than regular bamboo, so it should last a long time. I'll try again in a month to see if this blind is still reliable. These were purchased for my front porch (total of nine windows - (I chose this company because my windows are odd sizes. ) They're reasonably priced, and the size selection is just right for me. Many other companies did not have the 30in width I required at this low price; most others were $60 or more due to the quantity. My order was split and shipped at different times, which was fine because I was not in a hurry. When I contacted the vendor about size concerns, they responded quickly, within a day (even on a holiday weekend), and were extremely friendly and helpful. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and the blinds that came with it. All of them function as they should. They provide you with wall hooks to screw into the wall in order to mount them. My wall was ridiculously solid wood, so hanging them took some effort, but they were very simple to install by myself using a drill to predrill the mounting holes. After you've installed the hooks, simply hang the blinds on the hooks and they're ready to use! The strings are mounted on hangers so they don't dangle on the floor and can be rolled up easily. I didn't mind that the strings were a bit long. I figured out what length I wanted them to be and cut them to that length. The packaging was adequate, having been rolled up and sealed with shrink wrap for safe transportation - There was no damage done to any of the nine! I am extremely happy. keeps my porch cooler and filters privacy so people can not see 100% through the windows It's been a month and there haven't been any problems yet. This seller comes highly recommended by me.
The laundry "area" isn't original to the house, and it was converted into a large "closet" in my kitchen during a renovation. It had the louvered folding doors, which I despise, and one of them broke after being repaired several times. I removed both doors and hung this blind over the 60"-wide opening. door frame with a large opening I've organized the area with baskets to hold all of my laundry and cleaning supplies, and I've yet to feel the need to lower the blind. As much as I despised having that space in my kitchen, the blind has made a huge difference! Very well done!! Oh, and it was a cinch to set up!.
I was unsure about the first one, but I ended up buying two more because I liked it so much. I changed the fasteners on the patio to withstand stronger winds, but they blocked out so much sun that the patio door and walls are much cooler, which translates to cost savings. in addition to privacy.
This is a lovely product. It was incredibly simple to erect. It is true to the size listed because it fits perfectly. It completely changes the look of my backyard. However, as you can see through. I looked for a long time for a shade that would provide privacy because my neighbor's patio is only about 15 feet away, but this did not help. Colors and shapes can be seen through it clearly. I'll keep it because it's already up, but I'll most likely replace it with a better screen next year. This could be used as a sunshade, but don't expect any privacy.
We RARELY ever open/close them because they only lasted 2 years.
